paediatrician recommendations

Thank you so much for all the recommendations. Ankie, I enfed up going to Dr Batt and she's so awesome. She was great with my son and it was just such a positive experience. I think I'll keep her lol

Please go to Dr Celeste Retief-Zarabie. She is at N1 City.

She is very sweet, and extremely patient, lets you talk and explains everything very well (wish my gynea was like her )
She has an extremely gentle manner about her-and is very calming. My only issue-the room is so cold when you have to undress the baby!

She had no issues with when I was BF'ing-she actually encouraged it for as long as possible (I fed every 2 hours, until about 9 months, and then stretched it a little, but continued feeding till about 18months, when my milk supply got very little)

She was on maternity leave when I last went. Her stand-in was good, but just made me realise how much better Dr Retief is.

Thanks for all the info Ankie, I will definitely keep Dr Batt in mind! I think I'm starting to realise I should keep quiet as well lol.

Karmie, I hope I didn't put you off Dr Kerner. She has been very helpful as well. She just has this condescending way about her (in my experience). She told me that I'm breastfeeding my 9 month old far too often, then proceeded to ask me whether I plan on breastfeeding him until he's 5, seeing as I'm doing it this often and he's already 9 months (which was in a halfresco joke kind of way but also not). She also said he's just doing it for comfort probably as well so I should minimise it. Btw I feed him 3-4 hourly. And hes not overweight at all. Aaand I have no problem comforting my son in that way!

She also said that I need to get him our of my bed, and that it sounds like it's time for sleep training. I mean really? These are my choices!
When I told her I would never let my baby "cry it out", she said there's nothing wrong with the baby crying. Lol. I'm sorry I just can't bring myself to go back to her. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but I'd prefer someone else.

I wanted to go the Pead that took over Dr De Villiers' practice, but she was not available, so we went to Kerner. I cannot remember what her surname was, but the number is 0219110892

We recently went to Dr Jonda Kerner in Panorama, we were previously with Dr Gerrit de Villiers, but he ceased practicing.

So far, we have no issues with Dr Kerner. We find her quite practical in her advise.
