S26 Gold 3 - Availability

My son has been on the S26 LF and now is approaching 6months. is there a S26 LF after 6months?

I tried out the Infacare Gold and didn't like it, so stocked up on S26 Gold.

Some people say it is going to be imported.

Hi Patricia, oh thats a pity. Was going to actually try Infacare. Am so scared that I'm not going to be able to get S26-LF - I had a really horrid time trying to get my son onto formula, and S26-LF has been the only thing that has agreed with him. I'll have to try get enough to last until he is about 6 months, and then will take it from there and try find him something else.

This is the story I heard too. We tried Infacare which Aspen told me was EXACTLY the same thing just South African and not under licence. It clogged my LB's tummy up no end! We had to take him off it so it cannot be EXACTLY the same thing.. We are now on Nido but he is 21 months..

Here is the story - as far as I understand it. S26 in South Africa has been produced under the Aspen Pharmaceuticals banner - under license from Wyeth.

Wyeth has now been sold / taken over / merger with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. There is no information available as yet as to whether they will continue with the S26 range of infant formula's. Logic says they will continue, as it is one of the better ranges of formula's on the market - and is a definite "money maker" for them.

However. Aspen Pharmaceuticals are punting Infacare Nuture which they describe as the most advanced infant formula available in South Africa - as it contains Omega's as well as Pre & Pro Biotics. Sounds good. So in essence, all mommies and daddies with their babies on the S26 range can do, is wait to see what is going to happen with the range. In the meantime there are other ranges available such as Infacare Nuture (Aspen) which is apparently really good.

There are however still lots of the S26 range available out there, so not all of the ranges have been sold out. (with the exception of S26 Gold 3) this stock will still be sold to the public, apparently Dischem have stopped ordering the S26 stock, best place according to Aspen is Baby City.

I have heard very good comments about the Infacare and Infacare Gold, so if and when I stop BF I'll defnitely give it a try first. I was very happy with S26 Gold on my LG, from 11 to 14 months she drank no 1 then no 2.

Please let us know if you try it.

From what I understand Wyett did not renew the license for S26 to be manufactured in SA, so it will be all of the S26 products.
