Change from S26 Gold #2

Hayley - interesting I would have tried that if I had known about it. It's definitely very true what they say about Novalac IT. It has now been nearly 2 weeks and I just can't believe the difference!

My 8 month old son is on S26 Gold No: 2. He was also fine on No:1 and then no:2 made him constipated. I have started giving him Probiflora paed daily and that has made a huge difference. I really like the S26 Gold range so not keen on changing but if constipation became a huge problem I would proberly also change to the Novalac IT. I have heard it works wonders.

Novalac IT is working beautifully! I should have done it ages ago. So for me S26 Gold 1 was 100% but the 2 just didn't happen.

My baby also suffered with constipation on s26 gold 2 I did try Novalec it it seems to also be working so lets see.

MommyN - sorry only seen your post now. I put 2 drops in all his bottles (drinks 3 a day) and then a couple of drops in his food. My problem is as soon as a stop it goes back again and I really don't want to have to do this all the time. It sounds like it may work in your situation though. I also feed him prunes most days, even tried tsp of orange juice.

I have subsequently changed to Novalac IT (the one formulated for constipation) which appears to be working - time will tell. Thanks Sumi for this nugget of gold! He also accepted it immediately.

Juno, how are you giving the olive oil? And how much and how often? I am in the same boat as you, but even when my LG was breastfed, she battled a bit with constipation so now on the S26 she is not always constipated, but from time to time.

Thought I'd just provide an update. I have introduced olive oil into my LB's diet and it has solved all our problems. I was also going to start a tsp of orange juice but don't think it will be necessary. All on advice from moms from another forum. It helps when you know other moms are doing it as I got the suggestion from my elderly MIL and SIL and laughed it off. Just goes to show.
