question-circle Recommend pro-natural gynae at Femina please?

Thanks Hasie,

She has managed to get the 12 week anomaly scan booked at PTA east, with the help of the fertility specialist who did the IUI. I know she was very worried about not getting an appointment for the scan, so that is one thing sorted.

Thanks for the info on the open day. She has actually done a quick visit to Midwives-Exclusive last week and will definitely attend the open day on 7 Nov. Hopefully she can find a gynae that meets her needs as well as meet the midwives. Up until now she has been going back to the FS who, now that the treatment was successful, does not seem to be very interested in assisting with the rest of the pregnancy.

The next open day at Midwives-exclusive is on 7 November. They actually had one this past Saturday, sorry I didn't see your post before that. But your SIL can schedule an appointment for a risk assessment with them and then she can ask who they use as back up gynies. Their back-ups are obviously all more pro natural, so even if she can't use the midwives, they will refer her to a good gyni.

Just as a side note, I have had a lot of over 40 clients who gave birth naturally without any complications.

Many thanks Mickeymuismommy,

The Midwives-Exclusive is actually my SIL's first choice, but like I said, she is 41 so it may be a higher risk pregnancy. And obviously it is still early in her pregnancy, so she needs a gynae to refer her for the blood tests and anomaly scans, or can she be referred by midwife for those?

Do you perhaps know when the Midwives-Exclusive have their next open day so she can attend for information?

Hi

If you want to go natural I would highly recommend using Midwives Exclusives www.midwives-exclusive.com as you care provider.
The run the birth unit at Femina. I am 28 weeks and busy with bithing classes with them too. They are amazing and your chances of having a natural birth is a lot better with a midwife that a gynea.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding them.

Hi Clueless

I would recommend Dr Reyn Marais... I had two completely natural, drug-free births with him! He would suggest things to you, like being a first-time mom he recommended an epidural and I said no, and he respected... Small things like that make a big difference... I got the births I wanted - twice!

All the best to your SIL
