LoL Ashbabe, yes, and ONION!

Originally i used to cut it in half, but then everything reaked of onion and i was using too many of them. Now i just put it there whole.

Actually, we currently have one next to my side of the bed, one next to my husband's side of the bed, and one on my desk at work!

And seriously, I haven't been sick. Closest i got to sick was a mildly sore throat and a post nasal drip (after DH's friends came to visit with sore throats, snotty noses etc and then got booked off work for 4 days to recover). My symptoms lasted 2 days max and were so mild i didn't even feel the need to take a panado.

I took the outer skin off my onion (it had been on my desk a while so decided to try a new layer) and drank a few hot toddy's and voila! I got better :D

There's been numerous occasions when most of my work colleagues have had terrible flu and stomach bugs and so far i haven't had any (and they say a pregnant woman's immune system is lowered so they get sick easier!). We've also had friends over to visit who have had bad flu.

Maybe i'm just lucky, but so far i put it down to my onion keeping the germs at bay and my hot toddy's knocking things when they start :D

Try this home remedy of mine - I find that strangely enough it often works better than actual medicine! (and it's safe :) )

Homemade Hot Toddy
Half fill a mug with hot rooibos tea (let it steep a little)
Add a big teaspoon (or a level tablespoon) of honey.
Add a small splash of lemon juice
Fill the mug with fresh 100% orange juice

Drink while warm (you can put it in the microwave for 30 sec if it's gotten a bit cold from the orange juice).

I'm not sure if it's because of the good stuff in honey or all the vit C of the orange juice or what but it really seems to work and you can drink it as often as you like. And it feels really nice while you're drinking it!

I also sometimes add a disprin if feeling feverish but because you're pregnant i wouldn't do that, but perhaps drink a panado at the same time?

Another strange (very weird) "home remedy" thing to do (NOT eat) is to sit with an onion near you. They have extremely good antibacterial properties (draw all the germs to themselves) and so also help you get better quicker. (I know, i sound like a quack but honestly since i've had an onion on my desk - since last year already - i haven't been sick once even when everyone around me has had terrible flu!). And I always reckon if it can't hurt then why not just try it!

Anyway, hope some of this helps and you feel better soon.
