Quickie post before I have to run for my torture session...

You guys inspired me! I went out and bought some veg and cooked it yesterday afternoon. I sommer divided it into empty Olli jars to freeze. Iz loved it! :silly:

I'm gonna try cooking some fruit today. As she refused fruit so far. Even the ones I cooked. Hopefully this time around we gonna get lucky.

:-) Sorry it got a little hectic and our internet went down and... but i am back now

:-) Kaelyn is still wearing her 3-6 month clothes, not for too much longer as shes 7.85kgs but at least a little longer. But shes really growing up fast now!

Made her her very forst chicken last night... just steamed the chicken, then added lots of bottled water and pureed it... I added some cubes of Apple to last nights portion... and she loved it! but then again she also polished off her whole bottle last night 230mls save for maybe one sip!

and then she slept, we didnt even have the normal 2 / 2:30 am dummy run...

:-) Yaaaayyyyyy

and i also started crocheting a hat for one of the mommies on the forum who wants it for her babies christening. (mind you any excuse to make something) :-)

Hi All

Eileen so sorry to hear about Iz and the rest of the family - is she feeling better? Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you enjoyed the sushi

Wow, RESPECT to all your mommies that are studying :) how do you do it????

Girly, how is K doing? Is her sleep routine back to normal?
Regarding proteins, I introduced P first to well cooked finely chopped chicken and i mixed it with either butternut or sweetpotatoe. Sometimes, mixed with mash potatoe and well cooked peas and carrots. I also used the bottled Purity stage 2 as Olli doesnt do any meat bottled food. I've also given her a lamb stew minus salt but herbs to flavour it.
I will be introducing well cooked eggs as she is 7.5 months now. She is also eating poached fish which she loves.

Oh BTW she is "talking" now - says BABA and BYE BYE :woohoo:

Mommy2Monster - good luck with the new venture, sounds exciting!

Cols thanks the receipe and the websites - def going to try it

BabyK'sMon - also felt the same way about putting away Peyton's 3 - 6 month's clothes - I wish i could sometimes press PAUSE, she is growing soooo quickly.

P is now also drinking rooibos tea - from a bottle and sippy cup - not quite mastered the sippy cup yet. Using her two bottom teeth to bite on it!

Anyway, gotta go home to my baby!

Have a lovely evening everyone

Hi girls

not gona do personals
Girly - hugs hugs hugs, jadon was like that. just be strong, cry when you want and take time out when you want. and let hubbs cope with k and some homework when you have time out. hugs hugs ugs.

eileen - happy happy happe belated b-day!!!

robyn - i would've probably snapped something to that lady even if she is old....

I've been MIA big time. just so busy at the office and at home.

work work work at the office, and at home is is gym (with a personal trainer) and cooking and entertaining my boys.

at least one of my children are easy :P Liam just crawls all over the place and he tries to get onto anything higher than floor level (almost as if he wants to stand - but obviously can't). he is sucha angel. only problem with him is that if a cupboard is open he'll starts unpacking hehehe and then my monster, he is bit scared of Liam... LOL so funny to see him cry when his baby brother follows him.

My boy is just a happy baby who loves food and loves being happy.

AND I am starting a new venture - will inform you all when the time is right ;-) what i can say is that i'm going to need friendly chubby babies for a photoshoot in bout a months time and they will be rewarded...so cape town girls be ready! This venture has been keeping me busy for quiet some time now...hopefully everything comes together soon and the products can launch with a big bang!! research, working with specialists, designers...all in the name of love...

You guys are really making me worry about these eating plans and menu's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Iz being sick we back to square 1. Spoon of cereal in the morning, half a jar of sweet potato in the afternoon and not yet anything at night.

Though I'm to blame for the lack of menu also over the past week, with everyone being sick, especially Iz, all went for a ball of #$%#^$&.

I gave Iz a rice cake to chew on, and she enjoyed it. I'm so scared to give her anything, cause I'm not sure what cause the tummy cramps.

Girly, I wanted to change her to another formula, cause I battled so badly to get Novalac AC.

I went for my 4th slimming session yesterday. Lost 11cm's by the 3rd session. Hubby bought me a small machine for home use for my birthday, so I can sustain the loss. Hehehe I think he's just scared I'm gonna rip him off each month for sessions :woohoo: . But I she put the heat pads on too high and I got a nasty burn on my tummy  .

I so wish the exams are over! Studying till late at night and early mornings is killing me! Cause Iz thinks she must also get up at 4.

no, no, no... I just typed such a LONG response and just lost it :(

ok, so this is a brief version as I am actually meant to be working...

Eileen, Yay you for being an awesome mommy and your girls knowing that you love and care for them... I cannot believe some other people and you are so strong for dealing with them and not killing any one yet... Good luck with the prep work for SA Champs...

Girly, Ugh, UNISA - not the most helpful bunch ... I hope you manage to get enough together to submit your assignments next week... It is so frustrating!

Studying is going slowly, DH is supposed to do evening shift but is only getting home at 7pm because work is so hectic. I only get to start studying after 8pm when I am exhausted :(

Regarding protein...

I also mush laughing cow or kiri cheese into evan's veggies. I give him the purity meat stuff which is disgusting and Evan doesnt enjoy it much. I made my 1st broccoli and cheese sauce for him last night so will give it to him for lunch today. It is super yummy and much nicer than purity. I left the broccoli a bit chunkier because he enjoys texture :) I chopped up a few strands of spaghetti into his food the other night, he sats chewing it for ages :) Had such a confused look on his face.

I havent cooked my own chicken or beef yet. Planning that for today...

I am using Annabel Karmel's BABY & TODDLER MEAL PLANNER and am loving the recipes.

Toast. I give him a small strip with the crust so he can chew it. He really enjoys it and if he sees me eating toast he demands some now.

Yoghurt. I use the greek style double cream yoghurt and add fruit puree to it. or the smooth kiddies yoghurt even though I am not thrilled about the added sugar :(

Cheese sauce:
15g butter
1 tbl spoon flour
150ml f/cream milk
50g chedar

melt butter and stir in flour to form paste
whisk in milk and stil until thickend
take off heat and stir in cheese until sauce is smooth

blend with 175g steamed broccoli or cauliflower.

Check these 2 sites for more ideas and suggestions. Remember, go at the pace you feel comfortable with :)
