Eileen B - for ours we put up a marquee in the back garden and my parents sponsored 3 platters from sandwich baron. We also borrowed their urn and put out tea and coffe and mugs

and Kaelyns godmom made ladybug cupcakes for me....

it was cute...

I spent almost a whole day blowing up 80 baloons and we used baby pink, yellow and lavender ribbons

bought four flower arrangements from multiflora (R70 each) to decorate - lovely pink roses.

:-) I am sure you will be fine. but shout if you need help

Hi all!

Geez, just no time to post!

M2m wow on that crawling! Iz is nowhere near there!

However she did finish her first whole jar of purity yesterday!!! She loves the Olli Sweet Potato. She's still not big on the cereal idea. And it's still a firm NO on any fruit! And she doesn't like sweet things at all. However she loves sucking on a gherkin. I give her some droe wors or biltong to chew on, though it's such a waste cause she chews on it for 5 mins then it's on the floor.

Charnenay, congrats on the competition!

Iz is now going forward in her walking ring, chasing the dogs!

I am hard at work planning Iz's dedication. Finally it seems my poor child will be dedicated on the 20th of Feb. After much deliberation we will be having the tea and snacks at our house afterwards. YIKES :woohoo: Our house is not very big and the guest list is about 50 ppl. So I decided to have 2 snack tables, 1 inside and 1 at the poolside. Pls girls for you who have done this recently.....tips, ideas?

Nou ja, let me go cook supper! Yes, I know it's 7:35 in the morning!

aaaawwww kerry that is so sweet!!!

robyn that was one of the complaints i had with the new HG number 3's and it was one of the reasons i switched to Pampers.

and why not try to get 'baby biltong' skaapland in bellville sells it, so maybe ask round in your area for it.

oja girly i did not bother too much bout it being low fat / full cream. i know full cream is better especially for the amounts of iron in it. i sommer net give the yoghurt as something extra, a snack, cos he gets all his milk wich is full of the nice goodies ;-)

If your lil one is lactose intolerant / has milk protein allergies you can give the woolies soya based yoghurts.

hi nikki, aaa another lil petite girly it is adorable to see petite girly girls

till bit later xx

Aaah there we go much better... didn't want to let me post the picture above yesterday... gremlins i guess!

Isnt it adorable! But never mind that the rubber duckies i bought from clicks float upside-down!!! Kaelyn still loves chasing them around even leans so far forward to get them that she puts her face in the water if you don't hold her!

M2M That must have taken its toll on you, but it looks like this little one is waaay ahead :-)

Girly I also read that it should be full cream yoghurt

Nikki_P Wow welcome back stranger! Dont stress about the cold if you hadn't given it to her i am sure someone else would have. As long as youre looking after her and helpig her get better then theres no harm done. Kids get sick... (same as death and taxes huh)

Robyn - we use the huggies gold and i have also found some bits coming off, terrible. I managed to find a pack of the old huggies gold, but when thats out... Theres a thread on here about the Pick n pay nappies, thay are apparently very good... i was thinking of trying them?

Good luck chatting to the boss, will hold thumbs for you

hi ladies

Dakota loves her sweet potato!!
I just steam it and use a hand blender and then freeze portions in an ice tray
Have done some butternut for her to try next week (am trying one new veg per week and will only move onto fruit later)

Also tried giving her some water but she doesn't like it (funny that they need to get used to water!)
Will only try tea & yoghurt much later

My dad gave her biltong to chew but I found it was way too salty so I had to suck it first and then she just sucked the flavour, so I'll wait for that as well
I tried the Olli teething biscuits but found they broke off in her mouth very easily so I had to keep sticking my fingers in to get them out which she did not enjoy! So will leave those

She is now on no. 3 nappies, no. 2 formula and solids - getting so big already!!

For those using Huugies Gold 3's - have you noticed some 'fibres' (almost like very thin cotton wool) coming off the bottom of the nappies when they are on baby?
I don't know if I have a bad batch or if they are all like this?!

Dakota is starting to try crawl - she can now bring her legs up under her and straightens her arms so she's on her hands & knees, but then doesn't know what to do from there!

Going to see another pre-school tom (Montessori) and then I'm off to my boss's farewell - am going to try chat to him about my position (wish me luck!)

Hello beautiful mommies!

It's been a looooong time since I've posted  but I have been reading all the posts so am up to date with all the milestones and all the pics of your beautiful babies!

Hi Girly! :P

My little Peyton has the flu (that I passed on to her - feel like such a bad mummy) and an ear infection. :(

Poor wee chicken had such a stuffy nose and was so miserable - we took her to the paed yesterday and she put her on an antibiotic and gave her some probiotic and vitamins and cough syrup.

Other than that we are doing great - we fly with her to DBN last month and introduced to the rest of the family. I was really worried about the flight but it was all fine. Gave her a bottle on take off and landing. She slept a bit, ate a bit of food, played a bit and was "chatting" to the other passengers. Just fusssed a little on landing but was fine after taking her dummy.

I tried as much as possible to stick her usual routine while we were there but this was not always possible. She did well though considering the million new faces that all wanted to kiss and hug
her.

She is doing well on solids - not the biggest eater! The paed was slighly conerned with her weight gain - she is 6 months 3 weeks and weighs 6.9kg and so very petite.
She said i should ip her calory intake by adding olive oil and or brown sugar to her food. She also said i must add a am and pm snack

I make all her food, used to puree but now mash it as she is used to the texture. She has cereal for breakfast, fruit or veg or yoghurt for lunch and dinner. I have introduced well cooked finely chopped chicken, i added it to the cooked vegetable. She chews well for being toothless :silly:

She only drinks formula or cooled boiled water. Will introduce rooibos next. Not yet mastered drinking from a sippy cup.

She sits well on her own and rolls over both ways. She does push ups lifting her entire body of the ground, looks so cute. She rocks on all fours trying to crawl but not yet there. EVERYTHING goes into her mouth, have to be so careful

She tries to have a conversation, but just loud high pitched noises come out! The pitch varies though depending on her mood. And she laughs fake coughing :silly: she even did it at the paed - i had to tell the paed she fake coughs, but she still gave me cough syrup just in case :cheer:

I started work last week and miss her sooooo much. Only get to see her for about 20 minutes in the morning and then again for another hour in the evening - i get home just before 7 in time for her bath :(

She is with mum during the day, so i dont stress about her at work - thank goodness

I wish i could be a SAHM :(

Girly I give Peyton full cream, sugar free yoghurt. They say at their age she must always have full cream as they need the fats so they dont advise fat free or low fat. I also give her bread sticks dipped in creamed cheese. She loves the breadsticks!

When we are out I use the Olli range which she loves. I find it tastes so much better than Purity, exactly like the stuff i make for her. I also use the Woolies fresh baby food which is equally lekker

Sorry i cant do personals - cannot for the life of me remember or keep up with all the posts.
