charnenay - I am sure your lo is fine, she probaby can roll and just doesnt want to. Kaelyn had her first swim too, but wasnt too keen when her nappy took on water - oops!!!. I hear you with the short hours, kaelyn is happiest in the morning and wants to play, by evening she sorta plays herself out.

Hello ladies,

sjo you are busy hey!! just chatting away ;-)

ok, a quick update i think i've got a BIG boytjie then  he was 7.5kg at 4months already (was only a 2.68kg baba at birth). don't know what he weighs now :-?

as for the 6mnth pead check up - my pead said at last appointment that he only wants to see L at 9mnths again - no need for 6mnths check...strange???

re 'milestones'
mind you my boytjie rolls over from tummy to back and back to tummy. he LOVES holding his feet and actually had one foot in his mouth already. He also LOVES tummy time, can easily spend an hour on his tum and play. He pushes himself up on his arms when on his tummy (with his chest in the air up till his naval about) and he pulls his legs underneath him in a crawing position. and he can transfer objects (toys) from one hand to the other and he can reach eg his dummy and pick it up and bring it to his mouth.... my lil sweet explorer.

and i'm back at the office and i really don't like it. i miss my baba and his smile.

re solids
b/fast - rice cereal (4-5tsp - dry - mixed with his formula)
lunch - ~80ml home made veggie purity (butternut / carrots)
dinner - ~80ml home made vruit purity (mango / apple / pear / peach)
'snacks' - 150ml rooibos tea a day
formula - 5 x 150ml bottles a day

re sleep routine
morning nap (60mins)
afternoon nap (90mins)
bedtime - 20:00
he wakes somewhere during the night (but only for dummy of tea - NOT milk) and then sleeps till 06:30 where he plays on his own in his cot.
when he starts moaning (actually talking EXTRA loud) you know it is time for his morning bottle

he is sucha dream baby!

and oja as most of you know he already has two lil teeth :-D

Girly - I'm glad the paed appt went so well. I'm sure you must be feeling releived...

Evan's been on NAN1 since 3 months, also used to give it to him for some of his top ups while I was BF. My milk evaporated by 3months. We moved house when Evan was 6 weeks and I think all the hectic of new house, renovations and new baby killed my milk supply.

I did comm law and found it quite easy, i'm sure you'll be great. Ya, ecos is actually quite cool - I did the assignments etc last semester but just could not face the exam so cancelled the module.

Charnenay - it sucks leaving our little ones :( I look so forward to the weekends now because I get to see Evan all day. Creche is right by our house so I leave home at 7:45am so we get an hour with Evan in the mornings. I pick him up between 4:30 - 5pm and then he has a nap and then is with us till about 7:30pm. He still wakes in the night for a bottle.

I tried the Novalac last night - he still wouldnt take it but DH said he thinks it was because he was so tired. He woke at 1:30am because he wet himself - i.e. bedding etc all soaked! had to wash him etc. He took almost a whole bottle and was down till 6am. He took half his bottle and then played around. I will see how it goes at school today. He had a very hard bm this morning so I think that's why he didnt finish his bottle. I asked them to please make sure they give him his water today. I saw they only gave him milk yesterday...

Nice to see everyone chatting away, it gives me something to do while passing the time at work - it's still very quiet here. Thankfully, no back log for me, so I started afresh :)

Getting very hard leaving Emily in the morning, I don't think I would mind that much if I at least got to play with her for a bit before I had to leave, but most mornings, she is still asleep :( She wakes up between 5 and 6 for her bottle, but drinks it half sleeping and does not even open her eyes, then she only wakes up between 8 and 9:30, so by then mommy is long gone :( and she goes to bed at 8PM, so I only have 3.5 hours with her everyday because I get home at 4.30 when I work a full day :( even worse for dh because he gets home at 6, then 2 hours and she is passed out for the night. Its tough :(, I really miss her.

Made her paed appointment for 28th Jan for her 6 month check up. She seems to be a lot more laid back than the other babies. Still not turning over by herself and definitely nowhere near lifting her arms to be held, etc. and she does not want to push her feet down firmly when put into a standing position, she just sort of collapses. She does have very strong head control and can lift herself quite high when laying on her tummy though. I know they all develop at different rates, but I just want to hear the doc say that all is well :) Paranoid mom and all. But I can definitely see that she has a more laid back personality and loves playing by herself.

We have her back on cereal and a tiny bit of fruit late afternoons and she seems to be doing well with that. Sleeps through from 8PM until 5/6AM when she wakes for a feed. Loves her sleep though, dh says she gets that from me :)

we had a nice bath together last night, I put her in her bath seat and got into the bath with her and she loved it cos I could put a bit more water in since I was closer by to catch her if she toppled over :) She loves the water! Had her in the swimming pool a couple of times during holiday as well and she did not even complain about the cold water!! Anyone else?

Cols - i know what you mean re the work, i did the same and came back to more new work and trouble with the old stuff! Sooo not fair. Good luck with the formula change, hope it helps!

Babyksmom - it does help to know everyones going through the same... at least you don't feel like something is wrong huh?

Girly - Kaelyn is also more fussy lately... wants her milk bottles warm where she only had them at room temp before and occasionally (though i suspect its getting more frequent) refuses the boob and wants a bottle... :-( my little ones growing up too fast. and stick to the diet... the moment you start having just a little slip here and a little there you very soon find yourself giving up.

I love that its so busy here. Just one problem that I cannot keep up!

Blessed so nice to see you online! Cant believe we were all that big just a few months ago! have you lost your preggy weight?
Awesome that with Armand's teething you have no major issues!

Wowee golf hey! it'll give you nicely shaped arms :)
I give the formula bottle in the morning as thats when she'd get it if she was at creche. I will still breastfeed her at night.
She wont stay awake if she's tired, so I just let her fall asleep and wake for food when she needs to. She's become a lot more fussy about drinking if she's not thirsty we used to be able to give her a small feed sooner than feeding is due but not anymore.
She fed now at 8 so will see how tonight goes. She was so tired she fell asleep drinking and is now in bed.
Um so you're telling us that you are late??? What will you do? Is it only your second cycle? Maybe your body just getting back into the swing of things? Are you on contraceptives?
I have not yet had a period. With fulltime breastfeeding I doubt I will get it anytime soon. Perfect contraceptive :)
They say as long as you're breastfeeding 4hourly your cycles dont return.

Cols aaah okay - your baby is somewhat bigger than mine :) So it makes sense. What formula is he currently on? Are you also breastfeeding?
Blessed told me about adding a drop of vanilla essence to formula to make it more tasty.
Re your subjects I think difficulty just depends on what type of mind you have. If you're logical they should all be easy. I enjoyed first year economics but I'm sure 2nd year gets harder. I need to decide if I'll take it as 2nd yr subjects cos I havent done it in 18months now and will need lots of refreshing!
I need to do acc 102 and commercial law 102 to finish first year and then I'll take a business management module as I'm studying general management.

Kerry so cute that shes picking up her arms now for you to pick her up :)
K's the same when she wakes at night and is hungry I must feed her or she'll wake completely and cry. Shes never woken if not hungry. Wander what's up with that.
The amount of food that 3 spoons of cereal gives is a big amount for them! Add afternoon veggies and evening cereal that's a whole lot of food! Hopefully then K will start sleeping through. She has only ever done so 3 nights - it was the week after Christmas and we were on holiday, she slept till 5am and 6am. Before then always used to wake between 2 & 4am for a feed and then possibly a 2nd time at 6ish and then wakes at 7ish.

BabyKsmom are you giving probiotics to John? My paed says this is the most important things for their little bodies and all these changes, and especially when they start going to creche.
If he had rotarix today it can cause vomiting. K had that last month, about 2-3 days after the vacs. We even took her to ER.
What do you do for a living that you're working from home?

Interesting that your baba is 1.2kgs bigger than K and yet only 1,5cm's taller. I have a beautiful petite girl!

We took Kaylee to the paed for her checkup this afternoon. She is weighing 5.88kgs and is 62cm tall. Growing nicely and following a steady growth line on her chart. What is the 50th percentile please? How do I look for it on my chart?
For us paed checkups are a little more intense because of her heart. But doc says pulses are good, breathing is good and that the murmur on her heart is softer than it was before which is great!

I am proud of myself to sticking to my food for the day but now I'm so peckish I could really do with a snack or sweet! And DH not home tonight so no one to stop me... :S Just gonna have to keep busy.
Tomorrow night is pilates class for me :)

Spose I need to register for my modules now :S I really dont know how I'm going to do it all!

Hi ladies

Wow its so nice to see everyone is back and to hear/ catch up on all the stories.
Just a quick one now cos I am exhausted so going to try catch a 20 min nap with John.
Shame, we went for his 2nd vaccinations today and he has not been happy since then, crying and niggly. He doesn't have a temp though but just wants to be with me so we are on the bed together now.
He has been spitting up even more than usual and vomiting too sometimes long after his bottle. I think he is getting used to the cereal in his digestive system but just to be safe I've had him sitting propped up on pillows and half sleeping like that for the last hour. Poor bean, he doesn't look very happy. I hope its just the niggles from the jabs.
He weighs 7.1kg now and 63.5cm.
Wow, Blessed, Armand is tall hey? Awesome!
Kerry, little K is looking so cute, I just want to eat her up!
Shame, I hope you can get through your work fairly easily.
Col, my old job was like that - when I was off for holiday or study leave or something, there was never anyone who could do my work for me so always tons to come back to. It used to drive me insane, one of the main reasons I career jumped and started working from home. It has its ups and downs though.

Its so interesting to read that you are alll having the same problems as me, like how our babies are not sleeping as well at night as before or needing extra feeds or how they are on solids etc. I love the feedback.

Ok, I better lie down or my husband won't be getting any supper tonight cos I will be too tired. Hey, maybe I should use that as an excuse to get take aways... ;)

Chat tomo, good luck mommies xx

John born 30 August 2010
