Hey girls
Sorry I was offline for a few days.

Oh my word, Mommy2J, poor Jess thinking she was gonna have to go through that pain like her poor mommy, what a hoot. Now excuse my ignorance but what is a las vegas? Is that a landing strip? I know a brazilian is all off hey? I just use veet. I wax my legs but my bikini is way too sore to be waxed :P

John has taken to waking up at about 4am again these past few days, it's not too bad cos he goes back to sleep for about 2 hours after I've fed him. It's still quite a long time that he sleeps cos he goes to sleep about 20h00/ 21h00 and he finishes his dinner around 19h00 so it's a long time without food.

Shame Girly, you've had a real run of things lately. I hope you feel better?

This is a question to everyone - how long are you planning on b/f your baby? I introduced formula at 6 weeks but he still gets one b/f a day and then at least 2 b/m bottles that I've expressed. I am planning on doing this until he is 6 months old and then I hope to wean him off the b/m. So far he is fine swinging between the b/m and the formula but I don't know if we will carry on liking both until 6 months, I really hope so, I would like him to have b/m for as long as possible. I'm very grateful I am able to express and it gives me much more freedom!

Kerry, your little girl sounds amazing! Can't wait to meet her. John is also full of beans these last few days, crying and then wanting extra stimulation and then getting bored quickly so I have to move onto the next thing. He is sleeping now, thank goodness (touch wood). He was up almost the whole time since 7 this morning (just a light snooze in his bouncy chair), until about 13h30. He was so hungry I gave him 200ml of breastmilk in a bottle, normally he only has 180ml of b/m. (he drinks the full bottle of formula though, 250ml). I don't know if maybe another growth spurt is on the cards or maybe he just needs more energy for all his antics.
Re: meeting up in Joburg, are you planning on going to the Joburg meet on the 15th Jan? If not, maybe we should plan a meeting for early Jan before you go back to work. I really don't know Joburg South at all so a little nervous to drive to your place but it could be an adventure ;) I stay near the Fourways area btw, perhaps we could meet somewhere halfway? Do you know if anyone else from Aug or Sept want to meet? I haven't seen on the forums but I might have missed it.

Shame your mil sounds like a tough and stubborn lady. My DH and I didn't speak to my mil for the better part of 3 years as he preferred it that way - lots of history. But he invited her back into our lives when we found out I was pregnant and its been fine since. She is besotted with her grandson but she works full time so besides the odd offer over a weekend she hasn't really offered to babysit, which I'm really grateful for, because we want to take it slow with her.

Mmm, christmas pressies, ja... I have no idea! I have bought him a fisher price stacking ring set but so far nothing else. To be honest it looks like he is going to be spoilt lots by his grannies (he has 3) and aunties etc so I'm actually thinking of not getting him anything else. He is so small, next year will be more a thing for him. Having said that I can't wait to put up the Christmas tree, I think I'll do it next Monday. :P

Wow I am very envious of your long holiday in CT, sounds divine. Are you flying or driving with your little princess? Good luck either way B)

Hi everyone

Firstly Kerry----OMG what is with these mother in laws, there is nothing worse then being underminded by your MIL im sorry in my opinion it will be hard to see the very special bond that K will form with her ( which is normal in normal circumstances) but while she is disrespecting and undermining everything you say and do! It would drive me nuts! :woohoo:

Fetching her and seeing that MIL has bathed her, or having a difficult night with her and wondering what your MIL might have given her to eat or drink (sugars) ect suring the day or finding out that she is secretly wheening her OMG NO!!!

My MIL drove me absolutely friekin bonkers with Jessica, she even went as far as to buy her a walking harness cos she wasnt walking at 14 months when i made it clear i was not concerned and thought she would walk when she was ready!

She lives next door to me and everytime Jess would make a peep she would be there banging down the door asking what happend! Ifound it hard to bond with Jess under those stressful conditions and when Jess was 6 months old her DH AND I WERE ON THE BRINK OF ENDING OUR RELATIONSHIP as he wouldnt have my back AND DEFEND ME so we moved out and it got better, she has since passed away and i do miss her terribley wish she were here to drive me crazy with Sienna :) I think about her alot and what she would have said she was Italian Mama through and through and said it like it is! miss it now :(

As for being her room S is doing good slept through from 7pm to 5am last night, i feel like a knew person :)
I stick to the same routine, bottle, bath, baby massage, bed and mobile with night light. Usually she out in 5 min but today she was over stimulated and had her sis here as its school holidays so she got no sleep literally nothing the whole day so she put up a fus as she was seriously over tired!

But i went in changed her position a few times NO PICKING UP!!! And within 10 min she was fast asleep!

As for solids i tried the carrots....messy messy she basically just tasted it and kept smiling and laughing so it kept running out lol

I have bought the rice cerial and am thinking i should give it s go
soon! mabe put a teaspoon in the bottle??? who has tried that?

So today my beauty therapist and BF did a house call for me for a very urgent bikini waw (LAS VEGAS) OMG with both kids on the bed with me, sienna screaming to be picked up and Jess worried why mommy was screaming i tell you a bikini was is stressful enough without the screaming and million questions, but i survived to tell the story....Jss just kept telling my friend...'YOU NOT DOING THAT TO ME AND SIENNA HEY"

Ha ha
anyway ladies if i want to kepp up this perky mood i better go get some of the stuff that keeps me in this mood SSSSSLLLLEEEEEPPPP.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

night night :)

Shame girly... hope you feel better?

Nope i was really battling to get over that growth spurt she had... it was killing me... me who had waaayyy to much milk before was dry... very dry... i eventually went to my gp and got an eglynol script... but i am very very glad o see tht what happened to me is happening to you guys too... sorry i know it means you guys are suffering.

murpheys law though when i got home pills in hand i thought ill start tonight... and i expressed and the milk came like no tomorrow... i guess i just needed the doc and kaelyns nurse to tell me that what was hapening wasn't my fault huh?

:-) tough times pass... promise. Today the milk is obviously filling her too much and shes now only eating every 4 hours... we will see tomorrow... if the milk evens out again or if the baby takes to the 4 hour routine.... (i am hoping for the 4 hour thing...)

thats the thing i am no so sure that MIL will be best... she already wants to wean kaelyn at 3 months and is angry coz i won't... wants to add sugar to her rooibos tea to force her to drink it... and as a job she transports primary school kids who she keeps telling me cant wait to feed and play with her...

She has bought my child clother for " her house" ... oh and did i mention shes a biker? who thinks its okay for kaelyn to go on the bike?

but i betta let go of it huh?

anyhow... id i mention Kaelyn isn't interested in eating today? Hmm only ate every 4 hours instead of three and even then didn't really have time for it.... she wolfed it down and then back onto more important things...

I am happy with the 15th... just let me know where!

Hey ladies

Kerry that's pretty rough. I think you're going to have to sit down with some strict rules and guidelines so that she keeps YOUR child in YOUR routine - that includes bathtime etc. Routine is so important, and you also dont want to miss out on those special bonding times if you dont have to. Seems to me she is trying to be the mother instead of granny so you may have to put your foot down even if it ruffles some feathers.

Seems I'm not the only one with flow issues? Maybe having more milk will help a bit. I am also trying to massage my breast before feeding.

So I have had a tummy bug yet again! Didnt have the throwing up thankfully, but nauseous, runs, fever and lathargic. Thankfully my mom was able to come through from the Strand or I would not have coped on my own today. Hubby is putting her down tonight so I can just rest and I'll probably be in bed early cos I'm really tired.
But K threw up earlier so I'm a little worried and will have to watch her. We got a new fridge last week and I have a feeling that my expressed milk started thawing when I transferred it to the new fridge. I gave her some of it today but she fought it and only finished 50mls then drank properly from my breast afterwards. So I'm thinking maybe her throwing up was from the bad milk? That was an hour ago and nothing since so hopefully she is okay.

I better get DH food in the oven. I have lived on crackers today. Will probably try some toast for dinner. I am feeling much better just still lathargic and a headache.

Shame Kerry, I did not realise that your MIL will be looking after her next year :( I think it would drive me CRAZY!!! BUT, while she might drive you up the wall, she loves your LG and will probably be better for Kaelyn. For you, probably not so much better :) LOL, but at the end of the day you know that while she is driving you crazy, she will never harm or neglect your child (which you can't always be certain of at a creche).

So, my first thought was to tell you that I would send my child to a daycare (My MIL drives me just as mad and I can't imagine if Emily had to stay with her), but when I thought about it, I realised that if I had to choose between MIL and creche, I would have to choose MIL :S - I would have to put my own feelings aside and do what's best for Emily. So, "buitvas" :)

CPT Girls and Kerry, how about a meet on 15 December then since Kerry will be in Bayside?
