Oh yes wanted to ask -
any of you have that stretching / burning sensation in your uteris? I got it a bit in the beginning, but these days I can feel my uteris growing, its a really wierd feeling!

And I am struggling to walk, and officially waddling! The pubic bone pain is too much.
Charnenay I spoke with my pilates instructor about that by the way. She says we must try keep our legs closed when we sit and walk, to give it extra support. The natural inclination when carrying a boep is to open our legs a bit but we must try keep our knees together.
I'm also going to take a cushion to work today to see if that will help the long sitting marathons behind the pc cos its so sore when I stand up!

Morning girls

Nikki I'm glad youve taken some time off. Your hours sound hectic, you will have to slow down!
I know you love your job, but when will you start m/l?

I was talking to a french customer yesterday, just back from maternity leave. She was saying in France they go off 6 weeks before due date, and come back 8 weeks after baby is born. That's not very long!

Babyzee cant wait for the pics :)
Re the c section, have you asked your doctor why he wants you to go C/S? Is there medical reason? I know that it can take the scar 18-24months to heal properly and if you attempt natural before then you can cause major damage.
How old is your little one? You should post some pics :)

Some women have an allergic reaction to pethidine and get nauseous from it. I havent heard of too many problems post op though, and mom's are usually fine when the first visitors arrive the next day, except for not getting out of bed.

Blessed enjoy your scan and cant wait to see/hear!
Thats a great word to get. And good to live with faith for the promises :) (I'm preaching to myself here!)

Charnenay I said the same. I'd rather go natural than elective c/s, but I'd rather go elective c/s than emergency. Sounds like youve thought this through!
I want to try natural, but if its too much I wont be stubborn about asking for meds, but would like to try oxygen first and then spinal block, but no pethidine for me...

Ann if your concerned about pain management then make sure this is on your birth plan and that hubby is fully aware that you dont want to land up drowsy. Maybe they can give it in smaller doses to help you with that?

Shew just dont know what to do about the bottles. So far its either Tommy Tipee or Nuk. But to decide.

My MIL is pushing for a wish list for the baby shower, but I cant really prepare any of it until I have this room sorted out a bit better so I can go through what I have.
Hoping that will be soon though cos I dont like feeling like there's pressure and I thought there was loads of time left!

Hello Mommies

Ann - i love your bump!

My energy levels are also decreasing day by day - do take all vitamins everyday, but a 12 hour work day is just about killing me!

Last week Wednesday, just i started dinner, i felt terribly dizzy and nauseous and thought i was about to faint - think my blood pressure plummetted. Had to stop and lay down for a bit - my fiancee was an angel - took over dinner and made me a cup of tea.

Took a few days off from work to just relax and wind down - helped alot.

Even finding grocery shopping tiring now - realised i just need to slow down now.

Take it easy ladies!

hallo all the mommies..

been MIA again for a whole week, but it is really hectic here at work and have to get my stuff sorted out now!! only a few more weeks till ML and I can not wait any more!!

Welcome Ann, not sure if i welcomed you yet.. You do have a very cute belly :)

Will post my pic soon..

Going for my 30wks scan tomorrow!! Can not wait to see my little man again!! He is so busy, but i'm not complaining!!! After tomorrow i'm going every 2wks!!! Jippiieee!

Got such nice prophetic Word last night at church!! A lady i don't know from any where gave me a piece of paper with Word on.. Just comfirmation that Armand is going to give us a lot of joy and that He is going to be Godly man and that God has a specific plan for his life!! That is so comforting for me, because i still sometimes have fear that something may go wrong!! It is so AMAZING how God just comes and make me confident in Him everytime i have fear!! ALL GLORY TO GOD!!!

RE Bottles: I wanted to use AVENT but at the prenatal class the lady recommended Pigeon or Tommie Tippie, so i changed to TT. Did not buy alot, only 2 to see if Armand likes it or not because i'm going to breastfeed as long as possible.

RE birth: So praying to go all natural, but doc will tell me if it is possible at 36wks because Armand is VERY big. He was last time 400gr bigger than what he should be. Any way, i don't mind as long as he comes out healthy!!

RE moodiness: Tell me about it!!! I'm so pethetic these days. I cry and get upset even if DH doesn't come sit next to me on the couch!! Any way, not long to go any more!!

RE sex dirve: So glad to see that i'm not the only one who has no libido!!!!! Feel so sorry for DH.. He was use to get it every night before the pregnancy, but no if he's lucky he only gets it once a week. And now i'm so scared to do it becuase what if it brings on labour sooner? Will talk to my gynea tomorrow and hear what she has to say!

Ok ladies, enjoy your get together Sun!! Drink a Hot Choclate on me and Armand!!! Will be there in my spirit :)

Lots of love
Blessings for you all!!

LOL, yes Girly, definitely a typo - I mean 31 weeks!! Jeez, that must have been wishful thinking :)

so, 6.5 weeks still at work. My maternity leave starts on 15 July - I am so ready to go now!!

Bottles: I bought Avent and then decided to change to Tommee Tippee because I have heard lots of woman say they are easier to combine bottle and breast feeding. So, will give it a try. My Avent was still sealed, so Baby City took them all back and changed them for Tommee Tippee which was nice. Also, the Tommee Tippee steriliser and electric breast pump and the actual bottles and teats are considerably cheaper than Avent and Pigeon and the Tommee Tippee bottles have nicer designs too :) So, hoping Emily is going to like them as much as mommy does :)

MIL and the scan: went well, she was very happy that she got to go along and actually did not say or do anything weird :) I do get along with her, she can just be a bit overbearing at times.

Girly, I was also thinking that your calves are probably just swollen. Mine are swollen really bad - No matter what socks I wear, they cut into my skin and at the end of the day, I have HUGE "dents" in my legs where the socks elastic was.

Birth options: I have decided to go for a caesar for a number of reasons. I had an op a few years ago to remove an ovary and the cut is like a c-sec cut, then I also have placenta previa (which apparently could change). I just felt that at the end of the day, I would rather prepare myself mentally for the experience of a c-sec than to expect to have a natural birth and then end up needing a caesar. I have not discussed with my dr. yet, will do so at my appointment on Wednesday. She still thinks I want to try natural. As for the medication, will take whatever they give me and see how I feel. If I don't feel good, will ask them to change. Although, after the op I had, not sure what they were feeding me through the drip, but I was not drowsy or tired at all and also didn't have too much pain from the 2nd day. Just hope it will be the same this time around.

Ann, as for the sex drive- ja, I think we are just too uncomfortable at this point. We haven't stopped all together yet, but definitely alot less now!

Kids at the get together - totally up to the mommies if you want to bring your kids or not. I just don't have any to bring (yet) :) and yes, it is Sunday, 6 june at 11AM at Nino's.

Hey Ladies,

Hope all had a great weekend. I went to bed early the whole weekend and still feel like I haven't slept at all. Thanks for all the compliments about the bump. Its funny how different pregnancies are, with my daughter I didnt have a bump up until 34 weeks, it looked like I just put on some weight and this time its totally different. As well my little girl wasnt this active, its as if he is training to be a little Bafana Bafana player lol. :P

Had my hospital tour yesterday. Well Milnerton Medi Clinic wasn't what I expected at all. Something I wanted ask all the mommies having a caeserean, how do you feel about the fact of them giving you Morphine and Phedine for pain after the op? I must say I am quite against this. When I had my previous caeserean they gave me a suppository and a Codis cocktail ( a blend of like Panado and Codine) which was totally too strong, I wanted to sleep the whole time and felt nauseas, HOW AM I GONNA FEEL WITH THEM GIVING ME MORPHINE?Morphine is a opiate and so is Heroin!? I just realized again how important it is for all the mommies to have a birthing plan and ask as many questions as possible.

Sho! Charnenay your due date is quite close...wish i was there already..so uncomfortable, sleeping badly and well don't even speak about the moodiness.. Pregnancy really takes its toll on ones marriage whether it is the moodiness, no sex drive or being plainly just irritated. I feel so sorry for DH, besides being moody and finding something wrong with everything he does I have also now lost my sex drive...please tell me I am not the only one, I really feel like a Pregzilla besides feeling like I have picked up so much weight and that I am fat lol excuse all the negativeness, having a blue Monday! How did the scan go with MIL?

Girly aren't your calves just swollen? Wish my bum and hips were their normal size, I fit in none of my clothes.

Yes Mina Moo, Peek-A-Babe is great! Can't wait for my next appointment..When he has more chubby cheeks..Sorry to hear about DH, it must be really difficult. I remember when we were still dating and he was staying in Jozi, flights back and forth, that was so difficult..I cant imagine being pregnant and having to deal with that. Well goodluck, hope he gets a position this time soon.

As for the bath, I really enjoyed the bath tolley with my daughter as I could pull it around wherever i wanted to bath or where it was the warmest and stand and bath baba without putting to much strain on my wound.

Bottles: I bought Avent with my little girl and ended up having to buy NUK, as she hated the Avent. I have now just bought two Avent bottles as I have the Avent Manual Breast pump and will wait to see what is Tristan's preference before I buy anymore.

Well have a great day and week.

xx
