question-circle Transition from 2 naps to 1 nap

My twins surprisingly adjusted from 2 to 1 nap pretty well. You will see when they are physically ready. If your daughter is fighting sleep at a certain time, perhaps try getting her to calm down first. Its difficult for them to nap if they have been running around the minute before.
I agree with moving bed time a little earlier if no naps were taken during the day. :)
It makes for a happier mommy and toddler! ;)

Lol, Bronz, I'll add his name to the list ;) They'd make a good match, two Energizer bunnies come together. I first thought you were describing Lilly in your post. She can also go on forever and she's the queen of power naps. If no one picks her up to MAKE her fall asleep (i.e. rock her etc) she simply won't sleep. She just gets a little uncoordinated, the other day she was so tired she ran straight into her cupboard oO. Will be interesting to see the two of them together tomo :)

G started dropping one nap at about 11 months.

We now on only one nap a day. Which is sometimes only 30 mins long. On those days he walks around like a drunk.

One thing I must say about him is that he just keeps on going. Even when tired he will be happy and running around albiet a little wobbly.

He goes down for the nap between 11 and 1. And as the other mothers have said If he doesn't nap I just move his bed time to about 6. He will then sleep till 7 or 8. If I want to 'sleep' in I move his bed time to 8 then he wakes at 9.

Maybe just move her nap more to mid day, then the gaps either side are more balanced?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILLY!! (Oh can I get first dibs for Graeme, but we can wait till she is 30;) )

Yup, James lap wakes between 5 and 5.30. It's brutal. On the days he does 1 nap I move bedtime up to 6 (so dinner at 4.30) and he still sleeps through til 5ish. Try push the morning nap a bit later to 10.30ish. James then gets a banana and a yoghurt before his nap and a sandwich afterwards.

OMW.... 5:30am is just toooooo early! EEEEK!

I am lucky cos on average Luke wakes up between 6:30 and 7:30 but he does occasionally have a lay in until just after 8:00...
