it's just like when Connor tells me the ground is too hot for him to walk on and it's clearly not then he will change the excuse and say he has an ow - just so I will pick him up, which I don't hahhaahha

I let him brush his teeth some nights but I would say after 3 or so they should be able to do a good job. I let Connor hold the toothbrush and I just move it around. We use electric so no matter where in his mouth it is, it's cleaning

Strawberry Mentadent proved too burny too - so then we moved onto Dischem's Dentalmate Tropical Fruit. Well, the one evening we started having a long conversation about the fact that it was orange. And guess what? I realised that it's not about being burny!! It's just that she doesn't like brushing her teeth. Things are much easier now because I just distract her the entire time, and she doesn't even really notice that I'm brushing her teeth! When do you ladies think they're old enough to brush on their own?

I buy the Nature Fresh range from Pick 'n Pay.

It has natural flouride in and chamomile.

My son sometimes fights to brush his teeth but not because of the toothpaste - in fact he sucks it off the toothbrush and then says he's done

It doesn't burn at all!! I think it's strawberry and cream flavour

we use colgate strawberry and bubble gum they seem to like it.

To get them to spit it out we also have a sticker in the basin which they have to hit....

@Nicolette - where did you buy the strawberry mentadent? Would like to try it out as an alternative

@Newbie - I paste a sticker in the sink and she must try to "hit it" ... Works like a charm

Just thought I should let you ladies know that we've finally discovered the Strawberry Mentadent. My little girl seems ok with that. We also tried the strawberry colgate - but she actually refused it saying it was too burny.

We also use the Aquafresh 0-3years one. My problem is that I cant get my little man to spit it out.... While Im still brushing, he already swallowed... Any tips to get them to spit?
