I only found out the gender at 16 weeks, 12 weeks will be inaccurate hun.

I am very sorry that you are so frustrated, but alot of us know exactly how you feel.

Has your DH had a SA done yet?

We have also been TTC since February and i went to a FS and they found out that I dont ovulate. So I would also urge you to go to a FS rather than a normal GP. I always had a "feeling" that something wasnt exactly right with me and my weird cycles, so we went to our GP after a few weeks, and I had all the blood work done and DH;s SA came back fine. He decided to refer us to a FS anyways and I am so happy that he did, so that now I finally have a POA.

So sorry for what you are going through.

The fertility specialists state that at your age it can take up to a year to fall pregnant before they would start investigating the possibility of any problems. The ave time is 6-12 months so please try not to stress too much. (NOT EASY, I KNOW)


Just some things to consider:

You should be having sex at least 3 times a week. If you are only having sex once a week even if you test for ovulation, you are not giving yourself the full opportunity to catch the egg.

Male infertility is on the rise so once a year has gone by your husband should be tested. It is pointless you continuing with ttc and worrying if there is a problem with hubby.

Please try not to get caught up in charting and testing. It just adds stress. I have been chatting here for ages (previously pf) and as soon as the moms stopped with all the testing and stressing, they fell pregnant. Me included! Relax and enjoy your time as a couple and your sex life. TTC can case extreme tension in a relationship and so often once baby is on the way the relationship is in trouble.

While your gynae can perform blood tests to check your hormones, there are other things that can cause female infertiltiy and these should be addressed after a year.

I urge you to consider seeing a fertility specialist once a year has gone past rather than a regular gyane. FS tend to work with you and your hubby as a couple with regards to making a baby.
