Fertility drugs and shots

Fraternal twins do run in the family, there's about 3 sets but I think the iui increased our chances greatly.

We have always just wanted 2 kids, regardless of gender - so we are really hoping that everything goes well and our family will be complete.

This may be a really random(and slightly insensitive question for this forum so sorry in advance )

I just wanted to know whether twins run in your family or if it is purely because of the IUI. ie the doctor inserting more than one embryo and 2 of them "taking?"

I recently donated eggs for someone who was struggling to conceive so I know the jargon AND THE INJECTIONS *ouch*. I had to have the "trigger" one at 3am and...let's just say the needle is not very small

Anyway, I fortunately have not had any problems YET but only have one baby so TOUCH WOOD! Hubby & I are thinking of using a FS to have twins for the next kids and then be done.

I also hate injections but i somehow managed to inject myself, so you'll be ok.

@ Hapi thanks man, i think you told your story perfectly. Just nice to hear what other couples have been through until they got their long awaited BFP.

Hi Chanz

Firstly before we even did anything, FS checked DH sperm and then both him and I went for bloods. After everything came back ok, he monitored me for about 2 months to check if all was working ok, I went for the tubal potency test and that came back ok as well. In that same cycle we did the post coital test to check the cm which showed that there were lots of spermies but they were all dead.

We did 2 cycles of meds and douching as our only problem was the hostile cm.

After that didnt work, we did the meds and the iui. We were very lucky because the iui was a success first time round. In short it was 3 cycles of fsh and trigger shots, with the last cycle being with the iui.

im not a good story teller but i hope this sheds some light

I am pretty positive that this year we will get our BFP.

@ Hapi, how many cycles of the FSH and trigger shots did you do before you fell preg? Did you or DH have any other fertility issues?
