heart An intimate personal question

15 years 7 months ago #159471 by LUCY W
Hey there!!

We tried abstaining from oral sex while TTC and we never got our BFP. The stress and being out of our natural routine/ rhythm etc obviously didn't work for us. Did the whole preseed thing etc etc!!

The month I got my BFP we had loads of oral sex and DH made sure I had big "O's"

Good luck and fx for you

I guess it also depends who has the fertility problem. I did not ovulate but my DH had a WONDERFUL sperm count, so we could aford to have a few thousand or so killed by saliva. Remember it only takes 1 out of the millions.

Uhm, know exactly when I conceived, and there were a few no-no's. Including doing the oral thing. I got spoilt, got enough for 2xbig O :P (OK, that tongue was an unintentional pun...). I do not have fertility issues, but I am evidence that gettting pregnant can still happen with a lot of saliva around. Oh, we also used Durex Cherry lube...

Thanks Ladies

I agree we dont do the oral route during ovulation period, dont want to ruin our chances.

I was just interested in seeing if anyone had still done oral and still fell preg.

I agree with you Julz you cant just make sex about BDing, its gotta be healthy. Must admit we havent yet gotten into that mode where the sex is just for the conceiving. I like to spice things up for my man, its my way of saying thanks for putting up with my moods LOL not that he complains.

If you ladies ever want some nice sexy yet flattering lingerie try pinned up lingerie. She is really a lovely lady and very helpful.

Hapi, i also read the saliva kills the sperm. Its actually interesting how some things can really impact ttc chances hey.

have a great evening ladies ;)

Personally, I try make Hubby see that a few times in my cycle without it isn't that bad and so we avoid it. Because we have struggled to fall pregnant we try at all costs to stay away from things that could make us struggle more. using lubricants is another thing. I can't really afford the good stuff 'Preseed" and so we go without and it's really not that bad because being off the pill has helped that as well. I do have to say that the lack of it does make the whole foreplay thing a little bland but hey, it's not forever.

ditto to what has been said above.

with us, we just ddnt do the oral as our only issue was hostile cm and google had said saliva contributes in killing off sperm. Our FS later told us that he has been involved im many research projects to prove/disprove this and that they couldnt really find any conclusive results.

ps - nothing is really ever TMI on the forum believe me

:P

I think this is only ever really something to think about if you are a couple struggling - or at least making a more concerted effort to concieve (like Julz said you dont want to mess with chances)
I do think that if you are a couple with n fertility issues, then it shouldnt really make a difference. I know exactly when I concieved because it was the one time I wasnt pedantic about condom use and the previous day hubby and I had indulged in other things so it didnt make much of a difference to us:) (james was an unplanned pregnancy)
