glad to be of some help.

Yes, u do need an appointment. As far as i know most if not all medical aids do not cover fertililty treatment. There are aspects that they pay for like your bloods & the dye test that i did. Just be prepared the cost factor can be overwhelming.

I think doc Lindeque charges R580, consult plus scan. I cant remember properly.

Sorry for your lost!!!

I back everything Hapi tells you! Even the FS. Dr lindeque is amazing!!! I am with him aswell! He knows what he is doing and he is an amazing man! Before I went to him I was so confused and depressed.

I went to my Gynie for 2 years. He firstly uput me on clomid for 9 months (ended up distroing my cervice mucus) I was moody and depressed. Then I had a MC and my DH said we need to see a fs. First visit with lindeque he confirmed that I had Insulin issues and progestrone and PCOS that made it hard to conceive and when I conceive I MC. So now I am on better meds and moniored.
Gynies are great but FS specialize in these things. If you become pregnant while at a FS then they monitor you till 12 weeks, and if they know your history they will be able to spot probelms early on.

Dr lindeque is in wilgeheuwel.I know of people that drive from very far to see him. He knows what he is doing! and everybody who have been with him is very happy!!!!
I had to see him on saterday as he wanted to do a scan for my IUI this week, and he works on saterdays and sundays aswell!!! So he really goes all out for his patients!! Ging to see him again tomorrow and hoepifully I will have a IUI on wednessday!!!

Son born 2007 (natural BFP)
TTC since 2008, Loads of clomid rounds
BFP 2009, MC 5 weeks. Went to FS 2009 Diagnosed with Hostile cervic mucus, PCOS, Insulin

IUI2: BFP one egg (Gonal F and trigger, Staminagro and Glocohase.
) MC 6weeks (low progesterone)
IUI3: BFN one egg (Gonal F and trigger, Viagra, estrofem, progesterone injections, pills and cream Staminagro and Glocohase.)
IUI4: BFP 8 egg (Gonal F,intralepen 2 rounds, Staminagro and Glocohase.

Hi BD

Again, Im so sorry for your losses.

A FS is usually a gynae who specialises in fertility issues. Not all gynae's are FS just like not all gynae's are obstetricians (sp).

With a history of miscarriages, I would recommend that you see a FS. He/She will run extensive tests to check what the problem is. eg, I conceived the twins via iui but from the tests that the FS ran, it showd that my progesterone levels were boderline low and he put me on progesterone supplements to support the pregnancy. There are many reasons why mc's occur and low progesterone levels is one of them, so it was prevented in time.

My regular gynae is the one who reffered me to a FS, she made it very clear that she does not specialise in fertility issues and really encouraged that I see someone who will diagonise (sp) the problem properly. I have to say that Im very, very glad that she did that.

Also, it might not be the case with you, but FS work holistically. they check both you and hubby, while gynae's sometimes dont.

I live in Krugersdorp, I doubt there are FS in Krugersdorp/Randfontein. I was with Doc Lindeque at Wilgeheuwel hospital, their number is 011 794 1941.

thats my 2 cents worth, im sure some of the other ladies will shed more light.

All the best to you.
