Hi

I am in Cpt and I have seen that there is a fertility clinic based close to me. Thank you for the info and I think that I will give this month my best shot and go and see a specialist in January.

My gynae also said that all is okay but wow trying for 5 months while something is wrong is something else, you must be glad you went to a specialist. I am also wondering if my fertile timing is slightly off or if something else is up which the gynae didn't pick up. I will take my charts with me and see what the specialist says.

I really hope we get our BFP really soon!

Thanks for all the helpful info.

Hey Jay-Bee,

Where are you based? Am in Jhb and my specialist charges R900 rand for first time visits then R700 follow up. I didnt make an appointment when I went in for the first time but its best to make an appointment.

In my case he did an AMH test and gave me Primolut N pills to induce AF as I was on CD60 without a period and with a negative pregnancy test. On the next appointment which was the third day of my induced period he gave me Fetomid to trigger ovulation.

Depending on the symptoms and the history he gathers from you am sure he ll make fitting recommendations but the consultation fees are as above.

I would really recommend you see one. My gynae that I saw in May checked me and said all was ok only to find out 5 months later that nothing was well.

Hi Cynthia

I was thinking of seeing a speciality but not sure where or how to go about it. Do I make an appointment at a nearest fertility clinic and what type of tests do they do? Also if it is not too forward of me, can I ask more or less what the cost of it all is as I am sure that my medical aid won't pay for it.

I am too wondering if I am actually ovulating and if my eggs are healthy. I do get the symptoms and positive opk's but I want to be 100% sure that I am indeed ovulating.

The bump sounds so wonderful.

Hi Jay-Bee01,

Welcome onboard.

I am 37 and was not charting or temping. I went to see a fertility specialist after 5 months of BFNs and discovered I wasnt ovulating. I am sure just getting checked out doesnt hurt anything.

I hope you will get your bump soon. All the best.

Hi Meisiekind,

I am seeing a pattern regarding my temperature spikes but my last cycle my temperature was all over the place after ovulation, I will keep a tab on that. I will wait till the new year and if I am still not pregnant I will go and see a fertility specialist. Thank you for the good advice! Maybe the upcoming holidays will relax us and maybe it might just do the trick ;)
