Thank you very much Poonkie for that question, i was also wondering when to start him.

My son is 5months 3weeks, when is it advisable to give him crisps like the "puffs", his big brother always wants to share what he eats with him and dont know when to start.

My LB loves the Organix range of finger food. The biscuits are the "melt in your mouth type" and are actually reall tasty - gingery. I often steal them for myself.

olli organic also does teething biscuits - I even struggle to bite them they're so hard! They don't taste like much though.

Biltong is also a big hit - minus the coriander.

He also loves gnawing on a drumstick bone. Just remove all the gristle and the needle bone of course.

I did not like the Purity teething biscuits cos they just crumbled as they got soft. I used to give them finger biscuits (I think it is spar that has ones without all the sugar) or rice cakes.
Also gave them baby biltong, does not have all the coriandr spices and things on the outside. But if you can't find baby biltong, you can scrap off the spices. Keep it in the fridge so it is nice and cold.

Also gave them frozen bananas and on hot days, ice lollies - but both are rather messy, so best eaten outside ;)

the purity teething biscuits are really quite big. You baby will also learn to move the bisuit from hand to hand and in that way eat from both sides of the biscuit. They last long too...

Hi, we've got one of these - it is really nice especially when you start off with fingerfoods and are a bit paranoid like me! It almost looks like a type of rattle - they can hold it in their hands and the front part comes with a piece of net which you put the food in. Especially great for soft fruits and veggies! They just suck/chew on the net.

They melt so shouldn't actually cause choking, but do read up on the 'rules' of babies with fingerfood. Have never had B choke on anything and she's only had pieces of food to eat for 8.5 months now.
