thanks hayley. I think I should switch to the crushed tablets system. It sounds cheaper as well.

gloeiwurmpie: Don't think I would give the Reteuir drops in a bottle as you are right is like an oil and will float to the top. I would imagine a lot of it would get suck in the teat. When I say add to bottle or food, I mean use the chewable tabs. Just crush them and add them to food or bottle.

I would honestly suggest using either the Reteuri range or Probiflora range. Those are recommended by most Paeds.

I know that Julzdylan also has done some research on the different brands of probiotics. Maybe she will comment later.

You give it in their milk bottle, (if your LO is drinking formula).
Just make sure your LO finishes every drop of milk, as the reuteri tends to float on top of the milk, and is usually in the last sip!

Otherwise on a teaspoon or if possible drop it into their mouth.
When older mix it in with a teasoon of "cold porridge" or yogurt.

Just remember to keep it in the fridge as it contains "live soldiers" :)

Hi

My son also has reflux and was colicy. I gave him Reteuri drops from birth and have recently started giving him the Probiflora Junior chews. He is 8 months old so I crush the tab up and add it to his cereal or a bottle. Recently he had to be on an anti-biotic and I continued with the Probiflora Junior chews in the morning and then also gave him Probiflora Paed at night in his bottle.

If you prefer to use the Reteuri range then the chewable tab for children is good and more economical than the drops. Just crush it between two spoons and administer in food or bottle. Just ensure whatever you give it in is not boiling or close to boiling as this destroys the good bacteria.

I have heard differently about Probiflora Paed. It covers for a lot of things and is apparently one of the best for winds and colic. It also helps with diarrhea, constipation and great when using an anti-biotic. Well that's what I read.

When our baby was born the pead recommended the Reuteri. She
also mentioned that it's the best thing for cramps/winds/colic and that things like telament is for the mom to feel better not the baby!

My baby didn't have a lot of cramps/winds/colic, so I won't be able to say whether if it makes a difference or not.

I don't know if you will notice such a huge improvement more than it being a case of things could be worse. If that makes any sense.

I guess it falls in the same catagory as giving vitamins. You don't feel energetic because you took your vitamins today, but in the long run you have a better imune system because of it.

Thanks for the advice - how do you give it and can you see a difference in baby? I was giving my baby Probiflora Paed but they say it does not have all the strains of Probiotic that baby should be having.
