Strange to see this post - I was chatting to friends on the week-end who also mentioned that they shop for their LO's at PEP! Will have to go and have a look.

I got some very nice pjs at Checkers Hyper for I think R39. Flannel, been through a couple of washes already and still feel soft and fluffy. O, I also stopped buying character clothing. LB know that and would not even ask for it anymore

Why are kids clothes so expensive? Call me a cheapie, but I can't see why I should spend R200 on an item and they only wear it for a couple of months.

@ Brownie - now you must know when you've got girls - and as a first time parent you don't realized it - so you buy all these very cute very light pink material shoes and boots! At least now I know, but it's hard to find dark shoes for little girls and I just won't buy them light pink shoes. I can't believe they actually make them!

We've also bought new shoes for winter cos last year's shoes are now small. He has 3 pairs and that's it. 1 pair of boots, 1 pair takkies and 1 pair sneekers. He also has an older pair that still fits, I just need to wash it. I am bad when it comes to washing those sneakers. I always leave these dark lines no matter how much I rince them :( Hence I bought him dark coloured sneakers this time and leather/platic (reebok) takkies - the reeboks were on sale and as soon as we walked into edgars he made a bee line for them, that's why we bought them otherwise we were fine with the 2 pairs (and I still shy away from those expensive labels for kids). But if Durban weather is anything like the other years we may need another pair of sandals and his wellingtons will come in handy for those rainy days.

Julz - my girls also just get 2 (maybe 3) pairs of shoes per season! When I had Kayla she used to have like 10 pairs of shoes! It's really not necessary and a wasted. And don't even mention jerseys! I like to buy them nice jerseys but as soon as they go somewhere with their dad / school they come back without their jerseys  . And I get really very angry!! When Kayla started Grade 0 beginning of last year, she lost like 4 jerseys!!

Oh Woollies got nice takkie like shoes for R100 - very cute for a toddlers. I couldn't get her feet into the boots they had, but Kayla insisted on the boots.
