any advice on chosing a good education policy?

I second the ladies about unit trust instead of an educational plan the returns are way higher and the nice thing also is that if you dont pay for one month or more it doesnt lapse or cancel.

We have the futureplan account from Absa for children. If you start with a few thousand rands when opening, the return rate was higher than a normal 32 day account.

We have a basic medium risk unit trust with Allan Gray. It is doing really well compared to actual education poilicies. We also prefer to put all of our money into paying off the bond rather. You can always take out a loan agains the bond if need be.

My friend did all the calculations and basically he wasn't convinced that a poilicy is the right way to go.

I have also been thinking about this and would love to see the answers that you get.

I think I'm just going to start a 32 day notice account and pay some money into it every month and increase the amount that I pay into it every year.

Personally I would start a normal saving accounts or unit trusts rather than an actual education policy!

I had one for both mine with Old Mutual and the growth is ridiculously slow!
