Hi ladies, quick question. Does this mean that you cannot use the doom mats in the little electric machine close to baby? I want to make sure. I also use the mossie net and a little gadget I got from Edgars that uses "waves" of some sort against insects.

Thanks everyone. Will have a look at those sprays.
I don't think a net will work if we have to puck him up at night plus he'll just grab it and pull on it at night!

The mozzies at our house are immune to citronella. I once put so much of it on our bedding that it gave me hayfeaver and still they came buzzing around us.

My lb pulls his net through his cot and holds onto it like a doedoe blankie so that is not effective at all in my house.

What does work is teatree oil. I mix it into his cream and i use it on him and myself. It works!!! He hasnt had any mozzie bites since ive been doing that and they dont even come buzzing near me.

When we are outside i use just baby spray. Bought from baby city for about R20 and it works even for our mutant, citronella resistant plot mozzies. It doesnt smell like anything so i didnt believe it would work but its brilliant!!!

Hi
In Hong Kong I found the wristbands by Para' kito. They are natural and deet free. Older kids wear them on their wrists or ankles and for the babas you attach them to the push chair or cot.
I also find nets to be most effective.

To calm bites, i use lavender oil mixed with sweet almond oil. Works like a charm.

I have 2 little girls and we living in Hong Kong.

I use an natural citronella stick when we are out and about (the other childrens mozzie sticks all contain parabens which I avoid like the plague), but to be honest his net works best - and it doesnt get in the way at night at all..

I'm also using the Chicco stuff on Lilly and it works like a charm. Got it from Dischem but also saw it at Baby City. You only need to apply very little, so it lasts forever and taking that into consideration the price is not too bad.
