Ladies the allergy can develop later too. I had some pen. after a surgery and got a bad rash for a couple weeks and had never had an issue prior to that.

Thanks for the comments ladies. My sister is allergic to it so thats why Im a bit worried. The redness is gone now but it is still *skurf* sorry just got a blank on the english word :) I was thinking long and hard about it and remembered that I didnt have the usual baby cream over the weekend when visiting MIL and then used Elizabeth annes night time baby oil lotion. It is quite fragrant.. And then the next day my son was sleeping on the bed and the sun came in right over him.. he was soaked with sweat when he woke up. So Im thinking that its prob more of a heat rash aggrivated by the new lotion ???

after a 2days on them she hit out in the exact same rash u mentioned..
took her to pharmacy as Dr was unavailable.. they did ask if anybody in my family has a allergy to pennicilin.. infact my dad is.. so it was very likely for her to get this rash.. took her to her pead and he confirmed.. allergic reaction and put her on other anti biotics..

Hi Kimika, Kyle was recently in hospital and was on so many meds. After he finished his antibiotics were finished, he started getting a bad rash on his neck, back and tummy. I thought it was also an allergic reaction as Im allergic to penicillin. Took him to the doc and the doc told me that its a heat rash and because he was so small, his body isnt used to certain medication. He told me to give him some allergex and the rash will go away. Low and behold the rash dissappeared. I know with me if I drink any meds that I shouldnt, my chest gets very stiff and my whole body itches and swells like crazy just like julzdylan is saying.

Kimika, funny you should mention this but my LB (8 months) just finished his first ever antibiotic (not augmentin though) and he also has a red rash on his cheeks... I have been thinking it may be related to his teething as he got 4 teeth inthe last month or so but now you are mkaing me think...

Will you let me know what your doc says please?

It is common for a rash to appear with an allergy to penicillin. Your child may also get hives, itching and wheezing or in more serious cases swelling of the tongue and lips.

I suggest you call your doctor just to check as the rash could be from something else.
