Shame must be hard not having family support! A friend of mine used to work for a babysitting angency, I will try and get their details for you.

If you are looking at a nanny, maybe go the au pair route? They will also be able to babysit for you at an hourly rate.

i'm new to the forum - have a 5 month old baba and she is just adorable! I am married but, unfortunately, have no family nearby to help babysit/share the load so romantic dinners are out of the question for a while can never find a reputable babysitter that is available!! I live in parklands, cape town and work in obs. I have luckily, 9 months of maternity leave so very happy about spending more time with baba. I am also debating the daycare/nanny options at the moment although its a while till then but need to get all my feelers out and see what the ideal situation would be that would make us all happy
Glad i have this forum to chat and find out what other mums do! it has been a Godsend for me in many situations esp in the first few hectic weeks after her birth!
