welcome Sharon!

thanks for joining :)
I started reading your blog but I am going to have to stop after your introductory page and living and loving article - you are just amazing and what an emotional and wonderful experience of finally getting your gorgeous baby after so many years of heartache.
preggy hormones will not allow me to read more for fear of not being able to stop crying!

adoption is very close to me as I was a volunteer at an orphanage for 6 years before moving to USA. Just last night I sat looking through the photos of "my baby" (there was always 1 who was my favourite) and I sat here crying my eyes out - I miss him so much but it's so wonderful he has his forever home now.

Good luck for your second adoption. I hope it is as magical as your first and you get to experience the birth again :)

Hey Sharon - quick update on J. Baby K was born via c-section on the 14/02 - mom was due on the 06/02.

Mom had a sterilisation at the same time, and there were a few complications - so she was in hospital for about 6 days and released on the 21/02.

Mom sms'd SW to sms J that she was clear in her mind that she was doing the right thing and though she was hurting (both physically and emotionally) there was no doubt that baby K was going to be with J.

Baby K is with a kangaroo mom, and SW seems to indicate that J may be able to visit later this week. I am not sure of exactly how that works.

J has seen photos of Baby K, and counting the days right now - all things being equal if they stick to the 60 day hold and there are no issues, then the 14 April is the day - which does feel like a very long time.

J is very excited! And like anyone - starts to panic - and then SW calms her and tells her nothing is wrong and everything is going like it should.

We are all very pleased for J and L (and for baby K!)

Thanks for the welcome!
We are still busy with the assessment phase for our second adoption but I am feeling hopeful. We have no gender preference so we'll see what we get.....

The last time we were extremely lucky and were selected two days after our assessment and our baby girl was born 3 weeks later. I'm hoping we won't have to wait too long the second time but who knows?????

Hi Sharon!

Welcome to Moomie. You will definitely enjoy chatting here but a kind warning: MOOMIE IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE AND MAY CAUSE HARM YOUR PRODUCTIVITY AT WORK!

You can share almost anything here no matter how personal or "TMI" it is...9/10 times you will find someone else saying "me too!me too! & here I thought I was the only one!"

Congrats on the impending adption of your newborn. Girl or boy? is everything final? I can understand the trepidation & excitement all at the same time.

Things will be wonderful, I'm sure. and when they are not so rosy, you now have an outlet :)
