Thank you Moomie Mamas!

@ Lollipop, sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with that hospital. Would you mind sharing it?

I'm seeing Dr. Kaplan, and he is only working in that hospital.

I've treid to make an appointment with Dr. Puzey but the latest appointment is on Sept. 7th, he works at Medicare. Any advice is welcome.

We're in a hurry to find a house, but agents are a bit slow to respond on emails or on calling us back. :(

Welcome Brancile! And welcome to CT- you will love it here!

I would suggest Rondebosch (preferrably Rosebank side) as a possible area, nice and close to town (Dh will have like 15 min to travel) and it is a lovely quiet area. Rent can be a bit expensive but it is because it is prime student real estate, but you are likely to find plenty of space on www.gumtree.co.za.

As for Christiaan Barnard, I didn't have a nice experience at the hospital, if it is at all possible for you I would suggest Cape Town Medi Clinic, they have the best maternity wing their nurses there are brilliant and they have a really good lactation consultant on staff too. The staff are so friendly and helpful and it is right in Gardens. here is a link if you want to have a look at their facilities: www.mediclinic.co.za/hospitals/Pages/about.aspx?h=2

Thanks!!!

I forgot to say that yes, we are in Cape Town.

We received some bad news last Friday from the movers that our container full of our things will arrive in 2 weeks time, and we must pay USD100/day spent at the customs area until we find place to rent. Now we only have 2 weeks to find a house! I'm trying to keep cool because I'm pregnant, but it's taking it's toll on my poor husband. I just hope we find a house as soon as possible!

Thanks again ladies!

Hi Everyone!

I'm new in town and in Moomie. We arrived 10 days ago. I'm on my 29th week for baby no. 2, my eldest is 4 and a half years old.

We are now in the market for houses for rent, and school. If anyone has a heads up, please let us know. And which areas should we avoid. We are totally torn of what people say about the "non wind-free areas" or the traffic going to the office or coming home. Hubby's going to work at the Gardens area.

I've seen Dr. Kaplan and finds him amazing, I just might give birth at the C. Barnaard Hospital at the City Center. Let me know your thoughts.

Regards,

Brancile
