congrats! you'll get lots of support here.
Make your appointment with the gynae asap.
My lo arrived 3 weeks before my 40th.
so don't worry too much about your age. just follow the dr's advice and your instinct.

Hi Tanya,

First of all congrats on your pregnancy! Don't worry I only have a 20 month old and I seem to have forgotten most of the pregnancy and new born stuff.

You can see a Gynae at around 8- 12 weeks and I would recommend that you see one, sooner rather than later, as you are over 35, it can be considered more of a high risk pregnancy- visits are ussually once a month until the last month, when I think its every two weeks.

Go see a gynae now and they will advise you on the way forward, in terms of visits.
Good luck

At almost 40 I found myself pregnant again... not really planned... obviously! I was resigned to the fact that I will grow old with my one precocious 16 year old daughter and even more precocious cat. So now it is for all intents and purposes back to the drawing board for me... how do you manage to remember stuff from 16 years ago if you can't even remember stuff from a year ago? I am totally clueless!!! When are you supposed to get your laze self to your gp for the first time? Mind you, this I managed to do at about 7 weeks, but then I forgot to ask how often I am supposed to see him! And when should I be at the gyne for the first time? Really... I do not find this remotely funny! Luckily I seem to be skipping the worst of the morning sickness stuff and my cat loves all the extra snoozes...
