I agree, only watch positive experiences with birth. Surround yourself with people who are passionate about birthing and maybe read the book The Mama Bamba way. It's all about the sacredness of birth. (It includes all kinds of births, not just natural).

I gave birth twice naturally, with not even a panado. The second birth was a meditation/hypno birth and was so much calmer and less intense than my first birth experience.

I never did the course, as I am a bit far away from the areas that they give courses, but I did it by myself. I also had Anina assist me over the phone while I was in birth, she helped so much.

Hi,

I am such a wimp and was so scared of child birth, I cry if I stub my toe :) but I have had two natural, drug free births.

And managed both fine, I also used hypnobirthing both times, I suggest you read up about how the body works in labour, that built my confidence as I realised we are built to birth

I also highly suggest you hire a doula, they can help with natural pain relief methods and they are a familiar face which encourage you through Labour and their confidence helps you feel safe and secure

Good luck, it really is a wonderful experience!

First and foremost, stop watching scary birth videos, they will only freak you out. If you want to watch birth video's google hypnobirth videos. Those are AMAZING!
And if you can, try and get hold of a hypnobirth book & CD (www.hypnobirthing.com/) - it's quite late in your pregnancy already but I have heard of women only starting hypnobirthing at 36 weeks and still really benefitting from it. Definitely see if you can get into a class or two or at the very least read the book. It is awesome.

I had a hypnobirth (you don't get hypnotised by someone else - that totally freaks me out, it's all about focussing your mind, thoughts and body and going into a deep state of relaxation, but YOU are in control the whole time). It was absolutely amazing. Vaginal birth, no drugs, not much pain at all. It was the best experience EVER and I felt so in control and so empowered at all times.

If you're really scared about giving birth I can't recommend hypnobirthing enough. It really will put your mind at ease and help you through and help you to have a really wonderful birthing experience.

 I'm a first time mom to be. 35weeks and 4days pregnant. I am extremely nervous about giving birth. Im going natural. As in vaginal without the drugs. As the weeks are comin to an end and im getting closer to my due date. Im starting to wonder if I'll be able to tell when I'm in labour and if I will manage thru the birth. Really doubting my threshold for pain now. I've watched so many videos of woman giving birth. And it makes me feel even worse
