Thanks for your reply this has definately been educational nice to know there are other moomies to talk to. This just shows you never to old to learn something new. I understand the concept about getting medical aid when you are pregnant cause most people take it for giving birth then leave it as soon as baby is born.
I am sure that other moomies who have had similar situations and questions to yours will be able to better advise, but unfortunately as far as I am aware, no medical aid will take you on while you are pregnant as it is a pre-existing condition.

I am currently 14 weeks preggies decided on booking in a private hosp as previous 2 pregnancys were at goverment hosp. Had no clue how to go about it was hoping for mccords but they are currently shut down hubby says westville to far from where we stay went to parklands hosp reception sends me away saying you have to come with your own gynae they dont do ante natal checks there im clueless about to cry and bump into a nurse she directs me to where gynae offices are. Got a booking for nxt week. Next week mission doc says first intial visit is r950 does check up says i need a suture put in to close womb as baby might come out books me next day for surgery his fee is r1200 to stitch,anaestesist is r2800, hospital r10 000. At this point i pannick lokking foward to baby number 3 persuade hubby even thoughmoney is tight as we want to have baby in private hospital just set ourselves back a whole r15000. Surgery went ok anaestesist says we owe him r2000 and not r2800 that my gynae quotes us. My gynae forgets to do a check up after surgery im sitting clueless in ward as to what is going i call him four hours later thinking he forgot to check up on me he says he is busy i should discharge myself get the hospital to call him so i can go home. I leave with my bloodtest not paid hospital reception says i must just wait for themto contact meif any money is owed to me. I sat waiting five hours for a doctor that never pitched up sent home not knowing how the billing works. Was i kept deliberately so that the r10 000 we paid the hospital could be depleted. Need to know what medical aid i can join that covers hospital costs, gynae and the works... Please help
