Private school, Model C or a good State school???

Thank you very much Trinity, that helps us. I will have look and check out some website. I wish I could just hop on a plane and check out the schools myself. Unfortunately it is not possible so I do hope the website are enough.
In the long run I do not think that we could afford the private tuition fees for all 3kids. I appreciate your response thank you.

Most private schools/model c schools are expensive with some going all the way up to R70 grand a year and some even in the R90s. So if you choose those ones then you have to have reconciled yourself with paying those monies.

But then there are very good government schools as well where you will just pay the normal fees(especially in the suburban areas). There are also semi-private schools which are subsidized by government so they give you private school education for an affordable fee.

Just do your research coz most of these schools have website and their info with fees breakdown will be there.
The 'education' itself is pretty much the same if you ask me, the difference is in the teaching(some private schools here in joburg kids don't even use textbooks anymore they use tablets for example) and other extra curricula activities like sports and all that.

So we have just departed with R5000 non refundable deposit each for our girls to start school next year in Roodepoorte. I am perplexed and the worry is how in the world are we going to keep up monthly payments through to Matric let alone keep up with the Jones. Yikes and we have a 3rd child....

Ok so our kids attend a lovely Government school in England but we are making our way home and I've been searching for good schools in the West Rand.

I would love to know why people choose Private over Model C or vice versa. Do people choose good government schools and if not why not???
