Thus far I am really happy with Dr Dalla and the hospital. I'm going for my 16 weeks appointment in second week of December, I think then I'll find out a bit more about everything and the hospital itself etc etc. But ja, at this stage I am happy and feel very comfortable.

Thanks for asking the question. I am also with Dr Dalla and was wondering the same thing.

Thanks again for sharing this information, happy that all turned out well. At this stage I still don't have a "feeling" about what I would like to do - natural birth or c-section. I'm just not one of those women who feel strongly about natural birth - not that I am in any way against it, I am just undecided about how I feel about it. I know you can't really choose a c-section, but I do feel better knowing that she gave you the option of natural birth and then did what was needed when needed.

I planned on natural, but i had to go for induction as i had high blood pressure throughout my pregnancy, but it ended up as an emergency c section, as my little munchkin refused to turn his head right, i wasnt dilating and baby's head started swelling. But it was definitely for the best.

Dr Dalla is awesome, she will really do her utmost best for you to birth naturally if you want to, unless baby is in danger.

The maternity ward is awesome, and the nursing staff is very friendly and helpful. I really had a wonderful stay there.

I went on the maternity ward tour at 25 weeks. That was together with the prenatal classes we attended at the hospital. 11 weeks might be just a tad too early. But it is entirely up to you.

Thanks Newbiemom, good to hear! As far as I know there are two female gynaes at Cape Gate. When my husband was there for his operation, everyone was also very friendly and helpful, which puts me a bit more at ease, as I am very scared of hospitals and just generally feel very uncomfortable when Im in one!

Does anyone know at how many weeks I should book a tour of the maternity ward? An info sheet I received about the hospital said it should be done "as soon as possible", but as I'm only 11 weeks pregnant now, I think I should probably wait a little longer?
