Aw Julz, so nice to "see" you here! Yes, you have been through an absolute roller coaster the past few years. But now you look so happy and content.

Thanks for always rooting for Moomie. :-) (Have you tried Story Chest for Dylan yet? I'd love to hear his feedback!)

So much has happened in the past 6 years of being a mom and I wanted to share a few things I have learned along the way.

1. You will eventually sleep again. Nothing is worse than the first 4 years of broken sleep and I am still tired from the lack of sleep these past 6 years, but I am happy to report my son now sleeps like a baby.

2. I joined Moomie whilst in a happy and loving relationship and have since become single and not single all in a space of 2 years. For those moms in a similar situation I feel for you. I honestly do. Nothing quite numbs the pain of not being able to give your child the stable home you truly wanted for them, but your kids are amazing and adapt so well and happy parents regardless of together or separate are most important.

3. I have changed careers while being a parent to a young kid which included working in India now and then. Don't be afraid of change. Grab all opportunities with both hands.

4. I have become truly open minded. If I could have more kids I would break many of my own rules like co sleeping and baby led weaning and all of that because it works. Kids sleep better with their moms and they eat better when fed proper food!

5. Your situation in 3 years will be different to what it is now. Don't worry about things. I was so worried about what school my child should attend. I was opposed to Private schools, but as life so often changes, so did my circumstances and I found myself living in the beautiful Pringle Bay Village with a Private Village School and my son is loving it. I couldn't ask for a better life for him.

6. Your child will learn to eat, sleep, wipe their bum, count, read and so on. Don't worry.

But we are women and worry is what we do best so until you realise there is no need to worry, be here for each other.

For 3 years the moms that I met on this forum chatted daily . Our kids are now 6 and many of the moms have second and third children and while we don't chat daily, there are times when one of us need to check something or confide in someone about our kids and within minutes we are there for each other.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.
