Thank you ladies for all the info. I am seeing another Gynae in two weeks time for a second opinion and I will talk to her and find out what the better option for me will be. I think it would be better financially if my medical aid covers it.

Thanks again!

@Jay-Bee - I think it is R2500 or R3000 if I am not mistaken.
If you go for the Laparoscopy the Medical Aid covers it.
My Gynie also asked me which one I want to go for, and I asked her which one is the better option and she opted for the Laparoscopy. Reason : if tubes are blocked, she can see where etc. and if I have endometriosis she can "treat" it then and there.

DH - SA done - all is well
Me - Stage 1 Endo

Hi there.
I had one done but I am in Gauteng.
I did mine at the Vitalab Fetility clinic.
They basically insert a die into your tubes and there is a camera to see on the screen if the dies goes through or not.
If it does not then your tubes are blocked.
It is not that sore just abit uncomfortable.
Then the gynae gives you an antibiotic to take.

Hi Ladies

We have been ttc for almost 1.5 years and have not received my BFP yet. Hubby SA is all good and I have had four cycles (this is my fourth) cycle of Fertomid 50mg and the Progesterone CD21 test shows that I am ovulating but have not had any ultra scans done.

I have read a lot that one should have a HSG test done as your tubes might be blocked and you don't know it. My Gynae says if I have no pains then they are probably not blocked but I have read that a lot of the times there are no symptoms.

Where does one have a HSG test done, the price and what can one expect, I am in the Northern Suburbs of Cpt? I heard that it is terribly painful and messy and that make me extremely worried and anxious! :unsure:

Any info or comments will be highly appreciated :heart:
