Thanks so much Claire!

DH and I visited Midstream Mediclinic over the weekend and we are pleased with what we observed. Will definitely be staying away from Waterfall. I plan to have a c-section.

Best of luck with your pregnancy!

Hi there,

Dr Rousot delivered my last 2 babies. He is amazing. He has an amazing bedside manner and a great sense of humor. I also loved that he never panicked about stuff and had a wait and see attitude. My DH also really loved him, he always felt included and welcomed.

I specifically moved medical aids when Dr Rousot started practicing at Waterfall, so I could have my 3rd there. But, now I am pregnant again, I am delivering at Genesis. Waterfall is terrible...and I mean terrible! I don't know if you are planning a normal delivery or c-section. I had a normal birth and the midwives are useless. The nurse I had basically told me I was going to be in labor for days (it was my 3rd baby, and I always deliver quickly) and kept asking to go against my birth preferences (can I break your waters, epidural, on and on) Eventually, I asked for an epidural (after 2 births without one) because of how hopeless she made me feel. Fortunately, I was already 8 cms and there was no time. She had to call another midwife to deliver my son (apparently she didn't know how to) and the Dr missed the birth because of her incompetence.

Later on that night, I went into shock (which I always do after giving birth) The night nurse insisted I have antibiotics, because I had a fever. I refused, because I knew what was happening and they came back with a document they wanted me to sign saying I was refusing treatment. Fortunately, Dr. Rousot stepped in and told them to leave me alone. The next day, when my family wanted to visit, they wouldn't let them in. They have a strict 2 person rule (even though I was in a private room) They also didn't want my sister to be there for the birth, they kept trying to kick her out. I told them that's fine, I'll just give birth in the hallway! Then they let her in.

So, although I love Rousot...not even he would get me back to Waterfall. Also you should know that he is now a cash practice and charges R2200 per consult! You have to claim back from your medical aid and they won't pay the full amount.

Is Midstream a Netcare hospital? Or a mediclinic? I would rather look at going there if I were you...Waterfall is not great and I have many friends who have had terrible experiences there.

Hi

I'm new here. :-)

Can anybody please advise on Gynae's in Midstream and or Waterfall City? Has anybody been to Dr Serilla Moodley, Dr D Russot at Waterfall? Or to Dr Carolina van der Westhuizen or Dr Avril Moodley at the new Midstream MediClinic?

I would like to keep an eye out for a new gynae as my previous gynae closed her practice in April 2016.

We stay in Midrand and plan to start trying for first baby towards the end of 2016.
