Hi Mommies (and daddies?),
In March 2016 I went off my birth control and my husband and I have been taking the conceiving journey in our stride (enjoying it :heart!). I have been diagnosed with poly-cystic ovaries. Since going on birth control, I have had regular periods (28 day cycle) with a 3 day flow. Before the pill I would get my periods maybe 7 or 8 times a year and it would be painful and looong!
My husband and I cannot work without a plan. Even though I'm not pregnant I feel I need to be on the band wagon on where my birth will be. I am currently seeing a Dr Hurwitz at Parklane Hospital. I think I would be comfortable having our baby there.
My anxiety is as follows:
1. However I want some advice if Parklane hospital will offer me an active birth with a midwife? I want a drug free labour and birth. If there is a mommie who had a birth at this hospital please can you advise me or share your birth story?
2. Since March 2016 I have not gotten my period. Should I see my OB/GYN? I am 31 Years old.
3. My husband has bi-polor disorder and his mood stabilizers have caused him to lose his libido, he took a testosterone injection to improve this (it has) however I would like to know if somone knows of a support group that we can join in Johannesburg. The TTC process had made him very stressed and anxious.
4. I see Netcare's Storks Nest is offered, is it a good thing to sign up with once I am pregnan?.
