Babies don't need solids until about 6 months, unless your pediatrician/doctor recommends otherwise.

As she is screaming with stomach cramps, it is probably not for nothing. It may be a good idea to wait until she is 6 months old and try with pureed veggies (pumpkin, squash) first, rather than cereal. If she reacts badly to that as well, best to take her to the doctor.

Please help. i have been trying to start feeding my 5 month old baby. every time i feed her in the mornings she gets constipated and screams all day for no reason with stomach cramps and every keeps me awake at night. I started her on 6 weeks like my other 2 children on rice porridge....to no avail. every time i give her 1 teaspoon and then i stop feeding her for a week or 2 and then try again.
