Fetal Specialist Dr Soma-Pillay

I went to the Fetal Assessment Centre at Pretoria East Hospital. The doctor there was great and she explained everything patiently. I went because of my age (I'm 36) and other factors. We just wanted to be prepared. As a bonus we found out the gender of our baby at the assessment! (at 13 weeks).

I don't think it matters who you go to, it is just important to know why you're going. Good luck with your assessment! Remember that stress is just bad for you and your little one and you can't change anything by stressing about it.

Hi ladies! I'm 10 weeks 4 days pregnant due in 4th July 2014
I went to my gynae at 6 weeks 3 days and saw the fetal pole, yolk sack and heard the heartbeat...

My gynae said that she recommends going to see a fetal specialist at 12 weeks.. ( which is next week ) I've been on the waiting list at prof Nicoloau since early November and it doesn't look like I will get to see him as his last appointment for the year is 19th dec.. I did some research as well for other fetal assessment centers in Pretoria and was able to get an appointment with Dr Soma-Pillay at the femina clinic in PTA ..,
has anyone been to her??

Had anyone else done the 1st trimester fetal assessment? Is it recommended? I'm really beginning to stress out now... Any advice will be most appreciated
