Therapy for a three year old boy

I agree with the play-therapy. A child psychologist will be able to pick up things pretty quickly. Most good schools have one that they use - so maybe ask at a pre-primary school in your town if they can refer you to a good child psychologist.

Perhaps they are referring to play therapy? Thats more age-appropriate and will be able to assess quite accurately whats going on...

My Kyle is turning four this year and his preschool teacher has concerns and has advised me to take him to an educational psychologist for an assessment. She says he shows abnormal behavior and deliberately ignores or defies instructions from adults, if the class is busy with an activity he sometimes will not take part at home when he gets upset or does not get his way he will push my one year old niece or even smack her. I don't know what to do as most of the psychologists I have spoken are either way too expensive for one consultation or they tell me that he is too young and may outgrow these behaviors .

Please can you advise me further I am just worried he may be missing out on lessons at crèche and he may not be properly prepared for school when the time comes
