I don't have any experience or knowledge about children with ADHD and medication, but an adult that I know saw a GP yesterday and explained that Ritalin can be given in smaller doses to test the effect first, therefore you can adjust and play around with the best dose with minimum side-effects. Once an improvement is noticed the doctor might prescribe Concerta (which I understand is very similiar to Ritalin in composition and effect) will be prescribed at the correct dossage as a daily dossage since it is a slow release medication compared to the Ritalin that can be given in more than one dose per day (depending obviously on what your doctor prescribed).
But please don't take my word for it - rather speak to your doctor, this is only hearsay that I am posting here.
Can i please have the parents intake with children that has ADHD on what medication works best for them. My daugther started with Ritelan and it worked for her but then the doctor prescribed the Concerta and it just feels that ever since she's drinking that it does not work well with her. Can this be? Most people say the Concerta is best but i need other opinions.
