Mediclinic (what happens after birth?)

Depends on the Mediclinic, I assume (I only know about Cape Town Mediclinic). They leave the baby with you after birth,at least for the first hour, and try to latch for a feed. (C/S or natural). Then they take the baby to go weigh and do tests and bring baby back as soon as they are done. If you want them to take the baby when you shower, you can do so, and then pick baby up from the nursery afterward. This is only from observation of friends who have delivered there

I'm due in few weeks and would really like to know what happens after birth? do they take the baby away from you or they let you stay with the baby?
