Aden, I completely agree with you about Dr Dalla and the nurses. I however also have to agree about the care workers, I am so glad someone else mentioned it. The one looking after me during the day and the ones in the nursery were not very friendly and yes, also made me stress out about ridiculous things! I did love the hospital though, so I didnt say anything about the care workers to the matron. BUT when I have my next baby there, I've decided that Im going to see the matron about the care workers before baby is delivered. Looking back at it now, it's really silly that I didnt say anything, and I should have said something to the care workers as well. No need to take it from them! But yes, luckily the nurses are very good, and I found that the night staff was the best.

Hi, I gave birth with Dr Dalla in Nov2015 at Cape Gate.
She was absolutely amazing. She is so caring and tries her best to honour your birth wishes. And the sisters/nurses there were lovely. JUST BEWARE of the care workers in the nursery. They bath and dress your baby whenever they feel like it. And overall stress you out about ridiculous things. Made me so mad.
But overall my stay was great there!

PS I went to Dr Niewoudt for 3 weeks when Dr Dalla was on leave and she was lovely!

Has either of you given birth at Cape Gate or with Dr Niewoudt or Dalla yet?

I'm also interested in the Cape Gate nurses and midwives - their attitude and behaviour.

It looks like Dr Dalla qualified in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (2010) before Dr Niewoudt did (2014), so she has probably treated more patients.

From my general searching, I'm considering Dr Truter at Durbanville Mediclinic. Has anyone had feedback on him?

Cape Gate is super nice, it's still new and everything is modern. Their semi-private rooms are also basically private as it's a totally seperate individual room (with a door, not a curtain), you only share a bathroom with another patient.

I scheduled a appointment with DR M NIEWOUDT will keep you updated on how it goes.

Esther I hope that you will get some help, I am just going on the list of my medical aid and choose Dr Niewoudt so will see how it goes. Can not find any negative complaints about her.

Hello All. I also moved to Kuilsriver in January and just discovered that I am pregnant. I am also looking for gynae to see me through my pregnancy - gender does not matter, but he/she must be great with patients and experienced. I am with Bonitas Medical Aid. Kindly also warn me of gynaes that I should best avoid.

I don't know either of those doctors - are they with your medical aid? I am with Dr Dalla at Cape Gate, and she is amazing. Not sure if she is on your medical aid's network though, she's not on mine anymore.
