Hi Gain-a-baby. My biggest fall back a few years ago was trying to do the minimum amount of exercise I could get away with.
When I was young i used to love being active especially swimming but after my first child I found i started finding every excuse under the sun to not work out, the kgs just started piling on. Its strange how life slowly takes over until one day we stand infornt of the mirror and tell ourselves how the hell did I let myself get like this.

We all tell ourselves we will always be that will look after ourselves no matter how old we get, but it happens so subtle and slowly that we dont realize it until its too late.

So what did I do?

I refused to go up another size lol, I would use my clothes as a gauge to know if i need to train harder or eat healthier. We need to stop using the excuse that our tumble driers has shrunk our clothes and we need to accept the reality..and then work our buts off to make sure we stay the same size.

Thats exactly what I did, i began working my but off, i decided to make no more excuses!

Another huuge tip I can give you is get a personal trainer! Don't try do it yourself, you need that extra bit of motivtion to be forced to go to the gym. Plus I find the biggest that puts me off from going to the gym is not knowing what to do, there are people who spend their lives studying training..they are called personal trainers:) leave that worry to them so all you have to do is get your butt to the gym.

Hope this was helpful.

Linda

When looking for a fb group for fitness support, I struggled to find a South African based one which is a real problem because in other countries it's perfectly ok to go running by yourself on the street etc and here in SA, it's just not. As mommies, finding time to exercise is a real mission but it's important for ourselves and our kids that we lead active healthy lifestyles. This group was created so that we can support each other in our goals and hold each other accountable as we strive towards them www.facebook.com/groups/MommyfitnessSA/

Hi ladies!

I know that staying motivated is tough, especially when you see results, and then put the weight back on. I lost 17kg four years ago and have never put it back on. I studied holistic nutrition and am now a personal trainer. My sister had a baby last year and I could see how frustrated she became when she tried to lose her baby weight. She got a few new mom friends together and I started working with them at her house. They all saw wonderful results, so now I specialise in new moms. I come to your house twice a week for personal training sessions (must be in small groups) and give you a great eating plan (where you don't have to weigh anything, ever)

Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all well.

I have to get back on the wagon as I've been out of touch and out of sync with my healthy eating, although not overindulging.

I must say I was freaked out yesterday as I saw a tiny pink stretch mark - a brand new one! Tissue Oil is a part of my daily ritual so I'll have to up it to twice a day.

Thanks Deja! Will sign up asap.

Gain-a-baby: Wow, it sounds great! I have learned not too feel guilty about special occasions with regards to food. The best diet in my opinion is one that allows for life to happen. If you follow your new lifestyle most of the time then I don't see the problem with occasional treats. Enjoy!

What a bad eating day for me! Birthday celebrations at work are always tough...Red Velvet, Quiche, Banana&Carrot cake...absolutely scrumptious....

I haven't weighed myself this week, going to work hard at eating healthy and weigh again on Monday.
