I spoke to my GP about probiotics and he said that taking them on a daily basis was not a good idea either and actually a waste of time and money. Expensive pee he said. He said to only take when the tummy is upset on antobiotics but taking it daily was actually not beneficial. This is what he said and I have never given Jade probiotics daily only when she has a runny tummy. She has never suffered from constipation. Troy also never constipated. Make sense to me and too much of an introduced bacteria doesn't seem like a good either... Just a thought and I know how GP's/Paed's differ on these things and how their minds are changed my med reps etc...
He is youngish and deals mostly with kids so I have no reason to doubt him...
I have just been to Dis-Chem and saw that Creche Guard have just introduced a new product. It is a spray Pro-biotic. Directions for use is one spray per day. The package states for 1+ yrs but they also have a multi-vitamin probiotic spray fro babies from birth. Also one spray per day.
Just thought I should share this with you all as it is far easier administering a spay than a tablet or drops to babies and toddlers.
