My little boy turned one yesterday. He's still eating purity at night for supper. We went to the Spur last night (or late afternoon) for his birthday and I ordered the vienna and chips off the kiddies menu for him. He only took about 5 mouthfulls of some of the vienna and chips that I broke into smaller pieces and put it in his mouth. After a while he would seem nauseous and start crying. The pieces we put in his hand he threw on the floor. I realised that it's all my fault that my child is still not eating solid "grown-up" food by himself. Please help!! What can I do to "wean" him off the purity? And how do I get him to eat by himself? He has total 8 teeth - 4 at the top, 4 on the bottom. He's in school during the week. We only get home in the afternoons by 17:00 and then he's already cranky from hunger. He doesn't sleep much during the day, so by the time we get home, there's just time to heat up some purity (also cause he eats it without any fuss), bath and go down for the night by 18:30. He'll eat bread on weekends for lunch, but supper time is purity again!
