question-circle How many egg can a 13 month old baby eat per week?

I used to give my son an egg every day for as long as he wanted it. Now he is almost 3 and I don't push him to eat an egg every day, he has one 2-3 times a week.
It's adults who can't eat too many eggs because of high cholesterol

As I've understood, fats are good for the little ones, because they are growing and also so super active. So I cook for my little one with butter and full cream etc. Plus those omegas (and fats and protiens in general) are good for growing brains too.
Besides under a year you are (arguibly) meant to give only the yolk, which is the fatty part.
Whilst I was preggies I was advised to eat lots of egg and liver because it's good brain food for baby..
My lb does not like egg.
I suppose it also depends on which eggs you are giving, some of them are so dodgy these days.

My LG had an egg almost every morning at the age of 1. But now she has them 3-4 times per week. Its all she wanted, but she was eating well through out the day. Am not sure if it was ok or not.

My son went through that same stage. Eggs are only a problem if you already have cholestral problems. My son was having eggs 5 out 7 nights for a while, maybe a month and then he outgrew it. As long as your LO is getting other food groups as well there is no problem, its a stage. And besides Eggs have just been declared a 'Superfood'. 'They are a rich source of protein, packed with amino acids for growth, vitamin D, vitamin B12, selenium, choline and antioxidants, and can increase good HDL Cholestral levels.'

I would say 2-3 eggs a week should be ok...at least that's how many eggs I give my 1 year old.

Apparently, the cholesterol thing is a myth.

Hi Ladies

My LG is a fussy eater in the evenings. She gets her veggies in the afternoon at the daymother. However, she loves a fried egg with fishfingers or scrambled eggs. I am a bit scared that I am giving her too much eggs per week. I also heard that too much egg can increase your cholesterol levels. Is this true?
