question-circle When can I stop with formula completely?

I was also told the same as Rakker, that all teh follow on milk is the reason for so many obese children.

4 bottles is still quite alot at this age. From 1 year they should have 300ml of dairy per day I was advised. This includes yogurts and such. Esme is 14 months and I am slowly weaning her off formula. She has a beaker with cows milk in the morning and in the evening before bed she still has 150ml bottle formula, i will slowly start replacing this with a beaker of cows milk.

Ditto last 2 girls.

The so-called "toddler" milk like Nido, Parmalat First growth and formula for >12 months is one of the reason why obesity in kids is on the increase.

I went straight from formula to ordinary cows milk with no problems at all.

Ditto Missesmom. No need for formula or expensive fortified milks after 12m if your daughter is eating properly. Normal full cream or even 2% cows milk is fine.

I put Katie straight onto cows milk from 12 months. She only has 2 a day. Rest are water, or watered down milk.

Maybe try mixing the bottles? So if she has for e.g. 150ml lactogen, mix up 100ml lactogen and add 50ml starter milk. Then in 2 days do 100ml starter milk and 50ml lactogen, and then in another 2 days all starter milk.
Just a suggestion, not sure if it's the right way to do things though.

Otherwise you could alternate, make her first morning bottle and her bedtime bottle stay lactogen, but both day time bottles become starter milk. Then after a few days make her morning bottle also starter milk. And a few days later swop the bedtime one too.

My daughter has just turned 13 months old. I have heard that "follow up formula" is not always a must. She has always been on lactogen and already has parmalat starter milk in her cereal.

She has a total of 4 bottles throughout the day, but tends to waste alot of the milk, due to unfinished bottles. But she eats solids very well, no problem.

What would be my first step. dropping a bottle feed or just going on to starter milk? :S
