Choosing a bottle??

Thanks Anthea08, Were you using the new Avent 'Natural' bottles? When I had my son we only had NAN 1,2 & 3, what on earth is NAN AR?

Just to add - my 5month old is on NAN AR and we have no problems with the Avent teats and the thicker formula...

I used Avent and Nuk for my daughter when she was born as i wasn't sure which bottle to choose. She actually liked the Avent better than the Nuk, i think it had less air and the teat was perfect for her little mouth. So for us Avent has been great! i'm bottle feeding her exclusively, hope it helps.

Wow! Thanks ladies for all the feedback, it would appear I have an even harder decision now! I'm worried I buy bottles that totally don't work for my baby. Perhaps I should but one of each and see which he/she prefers? I love the colours and designs of TT, but the Avent is a well trusted brand... Oh the confusion. And now Nuk ahs joined the competitors... eish... he he

Hi Bindy just from my personal experience with my boy, Tommee tippy was perfect when feeding him expressed breastmilk but didn't work with formula too well. Also he got nipple confusion from the tommee tippy bottles and after 2.5 months absolutely refused the breast.
With formula when he changed from NAN to NAN AR I couldn't use the Tommee tippy at all anymore as the formula is way too thick for the teat - I didn't even bother trying the bigger flow teats as it still looked too small to me. I put him on the NUK bottles, and haven't looked back, they are perfect and also advertised as suitable for formula as well as breastmilk. He is 3 months old and uses the size 1 medium teat.

Both my girls used the Avent bottles and had no problems switching between the breast and bottle... i breastfed my first born till 9months, giving bottles during the day while i was at work... And this was with the old shape...

My second born only managed till 5months. But she's a special needs baby...

My son is using both avent and tommee bottles, and I must say he prefers the TT. He has no problems switching between the two though.
