file My son cannot drink cows milk

I would rather opt for goats milk than rice milk. Our Spar sells goats milk, goats milk cheese and goats milk yoghurt!

Cutting out a certain food type is not that hard, the trick is to look for things that you CAN eat instead of staring yourself blind in things you can't eat.

Read ingredients, and stay away form processed stuff. Plain fruit and veg has no diary in it, neither does meat. Concentrate on the available foods.

Hi,

my daughter had some food intolerance's and we had to remove all diary, gluten and eggs from her diet for a while

we swopped cows milk products for the following items:

-Woolies goats cheese, its like a soft cheese and takes a bit of getting used to but my daughter loved it after a while, spreed on a cracker
-As Deja said don't give too much Soy as it can become an allergy, but try woolies soya yoghurts (we limited it to one every second day) especially if you using rice milk and goat cheese they aren't getting soya from other areas)
-Woolies rice milk

otherwise try making some other non diary snacks like homemade corn muffins (no salt) , nuts and fruit , crackers, cold chicken drumsticks , homemade meat balls etc

good luck, I know its tough, but once you get into a new routine, its fine

Hi Carol

My son drank rice milk for months and months. He is now back on cow's milk. I could never cut out cow's milk completely, because it felt like almost everything had cow's milk in!

I am not really of much help. Just watch out that you don't give him too many soy products now. Soy is apparently the next worst thing.

Hi Ladies! long time since I have been here! Hope you are all doing well!

I need some advice from you...

As a baby my son wat lactose intollerant I was breastfeeding and that was quite common the pead said. Anyhow it got better. Now a few months ago my son now 18 months stopped sleeping through waking every hour or so with cramps.

The pediatrician suggested to take him off all milk for 14days and just give fortified ricemilk. Its been going really well! We get some sleep!!!

terrible for him though because he cannot eat yoghurt, cheese, and a lot of things he was used to and loved!

Any suggestions of good and healthy snacks without cows milk.
