Breastfeeding Facts!

Thanx Momtoc for the advice! It certainly puts my mind at ease . Gosh, expressing for 15months is really impressive! I have actually just resigned from my fulltime job to start a flexitime/halfday job because it was all getting too much for me and so I can spend more time with my LO. And I have only been doing it for 4 months lol

Definitely keep bf on demand. Breastmilk digests in roughly 90mins. Your daughter is making up for missed feeds during the night and yes, probably also comfort feeding (which is perfectly normal & fine) because your breasts are a mothering tool. It is not just there for feeding. It is there to quench her thirst, her dummy, security and comfort. It is her way of bonding with you because she doesn't see you during the day

You are NOT creating a bad habit!

My son is almost 20months now and I've been expressing at work for almost 15months now. He also doesn't really drink all his milk during the day. Some days he will only drink 60-90mls for the day and other times he will drink everything.

They only take in what they need and make up for the rest when mommy gets home....They very clever little monkeys <3

Breastfeeding is such a special bond between mommy and baby. Treasures those comfort, constant feeding because it won't last forever!

I have a question regarding feeding on demand. My daughter is 7 months old now and has been breastfed since birth. I wanted to ask whether I should put her on a feeding schedule or continue breastfeeding on demand? I work fulltime so have been pumping whilst I am away from her. She never really seems too hungry during the day but wakes frequently at night and wont settle unless I give her the breast.....I think a lot of it is comfort feeding. Is this a bad thing for my baby? I am worried I am creating bad eating habits.......

I just wanted to let you know that my friend's baby was born yesterday and is doing really well, in fact so well that she is allowed to kangeroo care and not in the incubator! Today she managed to drink from the breast! How amazing is that? So happy and relieved!

Lets hope her little baby is a good "latcher".
