ok so now you have seen my story on my experience with my daughter on eczema.

This is what we used:

- 5ml Allergex syrup daily at night until you can reduce and stop it over time (basically when the flare up's stop) - it can make them drowzy
- I bought a tub of Epizone A (black lid one) when the eczema first started in December
- I applied this to her entire body about 5 times a day to keep her skin moist and give her relief from the itch also when she goes out to play or the beach I applied it as a sunscreen for her to not aggrevate the eczema
- this helped but some of the eczema she scratched and left marks
- so about February someone told me to try Eucerin crème the one in a the big tub, and it's expensive but so worth it. I apply this 3 times a day, the crème is very thick but you have to massage it onto the skin
- I promise the Eucerin makes their skin so soft and subtle and it takes every mark or scar they have off so quickly, it really has made a difference, one tub lasts her 2-3 months
- always luke warm baths, immediately after apply Eucerin and baby oil to lock in the moisture

Of course we are avoiding the things that cause the flare ups but her eczema is almost gone and her skin about 98% restored, just two stubborn patches on her feet left.

It's a horrible thing for kids to have, it takes time and patience to get rid of it.

I hope some of what I shared helps you, but if your son was not born with it, it's def an allergic eczema.

Good Luck and I hope you and you son get some relief soon!!

Hi Zaza

He is almost 5 months old. He has eczema since he was 5 weeks old. I have a pretty good idea what caused it in the first place and we have eliminated that.

It is just worrying that it has now started up again. I had to start using the Deselex now again, but yes it is quite expensive to keep up.

Thanks for all your tips. I guess it is a matter of just riding it out until he outgrows it.

Hi Joanne

How old is your son? and do you know what was in the cream he prescribed?

but daughter is 3 and had an allergic reaction in December to artificial juice, gave her such bad eczema, it made her skin hyper sensitive to anything that has artificials, flavourants, tartazine and this never happened before until this first reaction in December. We also noticed anything dairy never troubled her before December but now anything full cream flares the eczema up.

I know it's hard to stop kids from having these things but it's worth it cause the itchy and look of eczema is worse.

We have stopped her to only 100% fruits juices and water, no full cream anything, no cheese unfortunately. Doc says she will outgrow it we just need to keep a food diary to see what causes the flare up's and eliminate it until her sensitivity disappears.

It's also winter the dry air aggrevates the eczema, makes it itchy and out sun unfortunately and heat also aggrevates it. It took a while for us to figure all the things that makes it worse but once you know you can prevent it or stop it.

Deselex is great but expensive to maintain, and they get resistant to it after 6 months, we now use good old allergex syrup, all these do is stop the itch and help reduce allergic reactions, my 3 year old takes 5 mls daily of allergex syrup, but over the last month we almost not using it anymore cause the eczema is almost gone.

Hi Ladies

I need advise on how to keep my LO's eczema under control.
The doctor prescribed cream and Deselex syrup. Everything was going great now for a month and now it is flaring up again.

Could it be an allergic reaction to something? Any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
